0:49
of my favorite things in the whole world
0:51
that is the fire TV stick if you have
0:53
not looked at this yet you should this
0:56
is something that plugs right into your
0:57

1:01
into all sorts of different streaming
1:03
platforms one of them being Facebook so
1:06
if you have the fire stick you can plug
1:08

1:11

1:12
you can watch this show right on TV so
1:16

1:19
it's 39.99 you're gonna love it and it's
1:22
Alexa voice operated how cool is that
1:26
all right we're gonna introduce our
1:31
guest I'm so excited for our guest today
1:34
she already had me on her podcast I was
1:37
so excited to be on the podcast
1:38
I've known this person Heather Hansen
1:40
O'Neal actually for quite a while we met
1:43
years and years ago when I did some
1:44
events and we have recently been
1:47
reconnected she's a speaker and author
1:49
and adventurer and entrepreneur and she
1:52
uses her action-packed experience to
1:55
fire up audiences on her popular podcast
1:58
called from fear to fire and she likes
2:00
to say that she's the igniter of inner
2:03
fire we're gonna find out what that
2:05
means but in the meantime let's welcome
2:08
Heather to the show and she's popping in
2:11
right now here she is hi Heather
2:13
hey Karen how are you I'm so happy to be
2:16
here I am so happy it ought to be a sin
2:20
come because I always like connecting
2:23
with amazing people and you are one of
2:25
them we always like to start the show
2:27
with a definition of what a super boomer
2:30
is so I'm going to start because the
2:31
super boomer is not defined by their age
2:33
they're defined by how they show up in
2:37
fearless with a just watch me attitude
2:41
that's how I describe a super boomer
2:44
Heather Hansen O'Neal how do you
2:47
describe a super boomer well I love that
2:49
your description has an effort and it
2:51
fearless that I love so much but the way
2:54
I think about super boomer if somebody
2:56
who has earned their confidence with an
2:59
experience that includes success failure
3:04
and everything in between and they own
3:07
every part of them and their own
3:09
decisions and their successes I love it
3:13
that is a great definition and will pop
3:16
it into the blog post once that goes
3:18
live thank you for sharing that God is
3:21
if you're if you're listening live go
3:22
ahead and tell us how you describe a
3:24
super boomer if you're on replate let us
3:26
know how you describe a super boomer I
3:28
would love to hear what goes in your
3:31
head when somebody says you're a super
3:32
boomer love to hear that so today if
3:34
you're just tuning in we're talking to
3:36
Heather Hansen O'Neal about tips to
3:39
finding your fire so let's just jump
3:42
right in when you say you're a big
3:43
nighter of inner fire what does that
3:47
mean exactly well you know it what I do
3:50
is everything that I do is wrapped
3:52
around helping people light what's
3:56
inside of them so that it can come out
3:58
and they can be a beacon to others and
4:02
sometimes it involves removing something
4:05
so they can see it sometimes it just is
4:08
a refocusing but other times just
4:11
Fanning the flame that's already there
4:13
to make it bigger so that they can don't
4:15
take on the world whatever it is that
4:17
they want to do you're clearly
4:18
passionate about that right a little bit
4:21
only been you literally just
4:24
no component ended you light up like
4:28
let's you know we I titled this tips
4:31
right I the three tips and I know you
4:34
have so many tips but we're gonna touch
4:36
on a few tips today about finding your
4:39
fire so one of the things that you say
4:41
about finding your fire and one of the
4:44
tips is to be aware of and honor your
4:46
intuition and energy how do we do that
4:49
well you know I think I'm gonna take my
4:52
own personal example because I am a
4:55
highly highly intuitive person who has
4:57
suppressed it for a period of time
5:00
because I thought I was a little crazy
5:03
but once I embraced the crazy and
5:07
realize that when I listen to my inner
5:09
voice that's when I make the right
5:12
decisions for me that are in alignment
5:15
with my values and my character and so I
5:17
help other people look at what it is for
5:21
them okay you just said embrace the
5:23
crazy I love that you're up there
5:26
listening in this and saying yes I'm
5:28
going to embrace my crazy I think I
5:30
actually had a post the other day that
5:32
I'm really happy I love this embrace the
5:37
crazy that might have to be my super
5:42
what's another tip well okay so I think
5:46
that a lot of people have so much
5:49
they're looking at all these strategies
5:51
and all of these things that are out
5:52
there and they're trying to take action
5:54
all these things but they can't because
5:56
there's something blocking them and so I
5:58
think the second tip is to really look
6:00
at what might be keeping you from taking
6:03
the right actions and that's typically a
6:06
fear a limiting belief an assumption or
6:10
a judgement and so when you really look
6:13
at those things and kind of bring them
6:14
up from the subconscious and then you
6:17
can decide if you can use it if you need
6:20
to kind of shift your perspective on it
6:22
or if you need to let it go completely
6:23
so that you can move forward effectively
6:26
with the strategies and there's that F
6:28
word again right there's the fear but
6:29
there's here and you know I like to say
6:34
I spoke to somebody the other day who
6:37
such thing as being fearless everybody
6:38
has fear and as a matter of fact which
6:41
was a different way of looking at it
6:43
it's the fear that drives us but I love
6:45
the word fear I I think that when we
6:48
show up attempting to be fearless doors
6:51
open it's true and that you know it took
6:54
me a while to get to the point where it
6:56
calling my show from fear to fire
6:59
because a lot of times people start out
7:01
they're like oh I'm not afraid of
7:03
and I realize they're not my people you
7:06
know the people that are drawn to me are
7:08
the people that are okay with being a
7:11
little bit vulnerable being tracing who
7:13
they are oh my gosh so true when I say
7:16
on fearless what I mean is is that I'm
7:19
gonna have the stomachache I'm going to
7:21
feel like I'm gonna throw up but I'm
7:23
gonna do it anyway what is that
7:26
expression feel the fear and do it
7:28
anyways I love that one it's true though
7:31
I mean how many times have you
7:32
approached a situation or or something
7:36
that's happened and you know it's just
7:37
making you nauseated you're nauseous
7:39
because that's how I get no I mean I
7:40
literally get nauseated but you know
7:43
that you have to do it anyways how do
7:46
how do you make sure that you can do
7:48
that okay well I practice on a daily
7:51
basis and I've gotten so good at it like
7:54
I jump out of airplanes and I do crazy
7:56
things that's the adventure part of my
7:58
bio but you know you know I want to let
8:01
people know that they don't have to do
8:03
that but you really do need to practice
8:06
being uncomfortable so that you're ready
8:08
when you need to be fearless you know
8:11
there's there's there's that shift once
8:13
you can become uncomfortable fearless is
8:15
just a nanosecond behind it it really is
8:18
it is my colleague of mine a Joey
8:20
Garrity likes to say uncomfortable is
8:23
the new comfortable yes that's true
8:26
you're not feeling uncomfortable maybe
8:28
you need to go do something mm-hmm and
8:30
out of your comfort zone so was another
8:33
tip we said three tips so what's number
8:35
three well I think that focus and energy
8:39
you know people downplay energy so I'm
8:43
gonna focus on that one for a moment
8:48
you know we need to own the energy that
8:51
we bring into a situation we need to own
8:53
the energy that we bring your presence
8:55
that you bring to your interactions your
8:57
relationships and you know people don't
9:00
realize that they may be emitting an
9:03
energy that's negative or complaining
9:06
and they're actually repelling their
9:09
their clients and opportunities and when
9:11
you're aware of your energy and you
9:13
bring out the love and the and the good
9:15
positive energy and service you will
9:18
attract you will magnetize opportunities
9:21
to you so really be aware of how to use
9:23
that consciously you know that's so
9:26
interesting when an expression that I've
9:29
used in the past is do you live in the
9:30
red sea of scarcity or the blue ocean of
9:34
abundance II and I think that kind of
9:37
goes to what you're talking about right
9:39
now is that when you approach things
9:40
with scarcity and with this clear that
9:43
literally paralyzes you you it does come
9:47
out in the way you network it comes out
9:50
in the way you communicate and we've all
9:54
I've been there that you can recognize
9:56
it on other people so much faster you
9:59
don't realize that you're doing the
10:01
exact same thing a really quick analogy
10:03
I'll bring my hands up into the screen a
10:05
lot of times people are clutching
10:06
they're holding on to something that
10:08
they don't want to lose they don't want
10:09
to lose the you know maybe they're
10:11
they're running a little short on money
10:12
so they're holding on to the last bit or
10:14
love or whatever it is and then you
10:15
don't have any opportunity to bring more
10:17
so when you release your attachment to
10:19
it then then more can come in yeah it
10:25
it totally is a game-changer so I like
10:28
to ask my guests all the time why do you
10:29
do this what did your why you know I see
10:36
people every day that are unbelievably
10:40
talented and beautiful and special and
10:43
they don't know it and they're not
10:46
taking actions to to cultivate it and to
10:50
share it and when you share when you
10:52
really look at and and and you know take
10:56
a hold of and light that fire inside of
10:58
what's perfect about you and then share
11:00
it that's purpose that's your purpose
11:02
right so my why is to help people who
11:05
don't see it yet be able to find that
11:08
confidence that energy that that purpose
11:11
that they need to fulfill what they're
11:14
supposed to do in the world you know and
11:16
that's that's so um it's so important I
11:18
hear people all the time say to me but I
11:20
don't know what my purpose is I don't
11:22
know I don't even know what I'm
11:24
passionate about I don't know do you
11:27
have any like a tip for that what's
11:29
somebody what do you tell them I just
11:32
did this I just had a summit and I was
11:36
doing a power talk on it and I spoke
11:37
just specifically to this so if you
11:39
don't mind I'll share it here so I think
11:41
that that's one of the biggest things is
11:43
that people don't know and they're
11:45
really getting freaked out by the people
11:46
who do know cuz they're feeling this
11:48
pressure but it's because there's so
11:51
much noise everybody has something
11:53
everyone has a gift and when you use
11:56
that gift you can follow your purpose
11:58
right but if you don't know it's because
12:01
there's so much noise out there
12:02
distractions you're going by other
12:04
people's priorities instead of your own
12:06
it's just too loud so when you can turn
12:09
that down and then turn up the the knob
12:11
the volume on your heart then you'll be
12:14
able to feel it you'll be able to hear
12:15
it and you have to do that because it's
12:18
there and when you're doing when you
12:21
cultivate that practice of doing that it
12:23
will get louder and louder and then
12:25
it'll get insistent and start nagging
12:27
you at 3 o'clock in the morning until
12:28
you do something about it I love that
12:30
that last part in particular it's true
12:34
you keep you up at night right as it
12:37
really does it really does aura wakes
12:40
you up in the morning and in my case
12:41
let's talk about your podcast we've
12:44
alluded to it let's talk about the
12:46
podcast how long we've been doing this
12:47
for oh gosh um about a year now and I
12:52
just have the coolest people on this
12:55
podcast you being one of them you did an
12:58
amazing episode just so authentic and
13:01
real I love it I highly recommend people
13:03
check that out but I just have just
13:05
really cool people that are drawn to
13:08
share their story because it doesn't it
13:11
doesn't actually have to be just experts
13:13
to what I want bring
13:15
you know it's anybody who has gone
13:17
through a challenging time of fearful
13:20
time and they learned a lesson that
13:22
someone would be able to learn from and
13:24
and be able to use in their world
13:26
because we all have those things and
13:28
there are heroes all around us so do you
13:32
have favorites I don't know it's like
13:36
saying who's your favorite child
13:37
okay that's Karen or we'd say that do
13:42
you have favorite topics that you like
13:44
to talk about yeah I do I like to go
13:49
deep so you know there's there's quite a
13:53
few topics that are very
13:56
business-related and that's awesome
13:58
because I work with a lot of business
14:00
people but I think that when the guest
14:02
expert or whoever it is can go deep and
14:06
look at that that thing that really
14:08
scared the hell out of them that that
14:10
was just devastating and they felt like
14:13
they couldn't get up that's the part
14:17
that's where the real emotion where the
14:20
the listeners get so invested in them
14:23
and they feel them and they connect to
14:25
them and that's where the learning comes
14:27
from I love it because they resonate
14:28
right no not every guest is gonna it's
14:32
gonna resonate with me but some guests
14:35
are going to resonate with me because
14:36
they're speaking to me even though
14:39
they're not they're speaking to the to
14:41
the whole world that that are is
14:43
listening but they're speaking to me and
14:44
that I think that happens with your
14:46
listeners right your listeners would say
14:48
ah I really like this one because it
14:50
spoke to me and resonated within me
14:53
because I'm that I experience that I
14:57
