0:00
little white lie and we're happy that
0:02
you're here with us today and today
0:04
we're asking a question do you feel
0:06
invisible so we want you to check in
0:10
with us today because you're going to
0:11
hear some ideas and how to imbue your
0:13
beautiful self expression with my
0:16
special gifts Alexandra lemon she is the
0:20
co-founder of the back 40 which supports
0:23
midlife ER to cause the second half of
0:27
their life as an inspiring radical and
0:30
purposeful best path based on the
0:32
premise that the best is yet to come day
0:34
and won't it be fine so I'd like to
0:38
welcome our guests in today Alexandra
0:40
how are you today i am doing wonderful
0:44
how are you doing I'm great you know
0:47
we're it there's always something going
0:49
on right and I know we had a little bit
0:51
of technical difficulties actually not
0:53
us but before this so I'm really glad
0:55
that we're here and we're going to be
0:58
talking about being invisible and you
1:02
know what a couple of weeks ago actually
1:03
did a blog post and alive about that
1:05
that I went to Las Vegas and I felt
1:07
invisible and it wasn't so much that I
1:09
felt like you know like nobody was
1:13
noticing me I just personally felt like
1:16
I didn't fit in to all the beautiful
1:19
people and I really had to do a come to
1:21
whatever meeting with myself and and cut
1:24
you know come to terms with that so
1:26
we're going to talk about why women feel
1:30
invisible and get your thoughts on that
1:32
because this is right up your alley so
1:35
what do you think about this whole
1:36
invisibility thing well I think what
1:40
happens sometimes is when we look at
1:44
ourselves in the mirror whatever age we
1:46
are and we compare ourselves not even
1:48
necessarily to others but even to our
1:52
own self in the mirror when we were 20
1:55
or 30 or whatever age and we sometimes
1:59
may want to get invisible because we
2:02
don't look at ourselves with the semis
2:06
and I even look at my remember looking
2:08
at myself in the mirror and forwarding
2:10
thinking oh I was so much prettier 30
2:12
I can look at myself now they go I will
2:14
fight pretty 840 so and then it because
2:17
well I used to be pretty then but not
2:19
now and that is such a policy and it's
2:22
just such a result is just plain not
2:26
true it's a lie it's a lie we tell
2:29
ourselves that may either make us feel
2:32
invisible and make us want to get
2:33
invisible and make us not really take on
2:37
the full beauty inside and out that we
2:41
are today right I totally agree with
2:45
that in fact I put a post into one of
2:48
the one of the groups on Facebook called
2:50
gray and proud and I asked them you know
2:53
what about the whole invisible thing and
2:55
it was really interesting because i
2:57
would say about half of the people that
2:58
came back with their responses said that
3:01
in fact they did feel invisible and 75 I
3:03
feel invisible on this I feel invisible
3:05
but fifty percent of the people said
3:07
they actually felt more visible because
3:10
of this which was so interesting so this
3:13
is the reveal i actually i have to tell
3:16
you Alexandra I looked at some pictures
3:18
from back in January just like a month
3:20
and a half ago and oh my god it was like
3:24
just a little bit and it is totally
3:26
coming in but people were saying in this
3:29
group and they were responding saying
3:30
that they felt even more visible
3:32
actually and it was a really cool thing
3:34
because they looked different I mean
3:37
what do you think about that is that is
3:38
that stranger that you think might be a
3:40
common response I don't really get very
3:45
very empowering and I think the best way
3:49
for us to look at ourselves and others
3:52
and beauty is in terms of uniqueness we
3:57
contrary to popular belief we don't have
4:00
to be like somebody else and we don't
4:02
have to be we have all these ideas of
4:04
how either we should be or how we think
4:07
we should be or others we should be how
4:09
we're raised to be mm again all of that
4:12
is also alive so standing out being
4:16
unique having our own unique beauty
4:20
shine through so gray there so the way
4:23
we dress through what we do and how we
4:26
up it's so perfect so I mean I have a
4:30
question one of it we actually titled
4:32
this particular lives that we're doing
4:35
as how to imbue your beautiful self
4:39
expression so first Alexandra the
4:41
question is what does imbue stand for
4:44
well there are many different
4:47
definitions Webster definitions for
4:49
review so what we are saying the in view
4:53
is is inspiring your message beauty
4:59
uniquely expressed in the way only you
5:02
10 oh my gosh I really i love that
5:06
definition and for those of you who are
5:09
tuning in and I can see we have viewers
5:10
make sure to comment I mean do you feel
5:13
invisible or do you feel that you can
5:16
express your beauty put some comments in
5:18
there we'll put it up on the post right
5:20
now so we know what it stands for and so
5:23
what are some ways that we can and view
5:26
ourselves of self-expression what would
5:29
what would be some of the ways that you
5:30
think you can do this you know one great
5:33
way is to look for individually for me
5:37
for you for everyone doing this inquiry
5:41
look and see what likes us up because
5:44
when we do things that light us up we
5:48
show up as light and glowing and happy
5:53
and beautiful and this unique and you
5:56
can see the difference in the way
5:58
somebody looks when they're really
6:00
inspired and lit up about whatever it is
6:03
that lies them up or when they're not I
6:06
agree I totally grand I'm actually
6:08
looking at ourselves right now for those
6:11
of you who didn't know you might be
6:12
hiding under a rock today is
6:14
international women's day and we're
6:17
wearing red I think we'd rent we must
6:19
the white called each other and said
6:20
let's just wear the same red top people
6:23
women and men out there and I know that
6:26
my husband went to work with a red top
6:28
on and I know that Daryl your your
6:31
significant other is also wearing a red
6:32
top today we are in support of women all
6:36
around the world and what a perfect day
6:38
to be talking about this
6:39
call invisible saying vs. visibility you
6:44
know we have decided the two of us that
6:47
we are we want to help people create
6:50
that that extent expression and to
6:53
actually feel that way about themselves
6:56
and we're going to do that by we have a
6:59
free webinar that's coming up and we're
7:01
going to put the link in the comments
7:03
below and we'll also put it in the
7:04
status up there is completely free we're
7:06
going to be talking about how to imbue
7:09
or be imbued let's put up we have
7:13
somebody we got roi on their hey Roy how
7:16
you doing welcome to the show so we're
7:19
talking about this whole imbue thing and
7:21
what we have a free webinar and on this
7:23
webinar we're going to actually be
7:24
talking about ways that you can Envy
7:27
yourself any thoughts on that anything
7:30
that you want to add to that Alexandra
7:33
you know there's many different unique
7:36
ways in which we can approach imbuing
7:41
inspiring our own beauty uniquely
7:44
Express and what we're going to do is
7:46
we're going to create we're going to
7:47
create a game we're going to support
7:48
women and creating a game such matters
7:52
it's again it's play is joyful and we're
7:56
going to support women and creating that
7:58
for themselves you know and I love I
8:00
love the idea that we're going to play a
8:02
game and that this is going to be fun
8:04
because so many things out there are not
8:07
fun they're just hard work and at least
8:11
from my perspective when it just becomes
8:13
too hard and I don't think that the
8:14
payoff is going to be great enough what
8:17
do i do I say you know what my time is
8:19
better well spent somewhere else and so
8:21
the idea of the creating something fun
8:24
to do to help us step into our power is
8:29
empowering quite frankly and I'm so
8:32
excited about this we're going to as I
8:34
said we're going to put the link down
8:35
there and again any comments this
8:38
conversation is going to continue so
8:41
what we're asking you is this number one
8:43
do you feel invisible and if you do why
8:46
if you feel visible we also want to know
8:51
why because this is so important you
8:53
or comments or thoughts and your
8:55
suggestions can help other people on
8:58
both sides of the coin right Alexandra
9:00
oh absolutely absolute mint yeah
9:05
absolutely for women men as well and we
9:09
encourage men to join us I mean I think
9:11
it's great when winter I love men right
9:13
I'm integrate so we do encourage
9:15
everyone to join us and again as a call
9:18
to action these are the ways that you
9:20
can get involved first of all make sure
9:22
that you comment make sure that you put
9:24
hashtag little white lie you can also
9:27
put hashtag the back 40 make sure and
9:30
that also continues the conversation and
9:32
don't forget to go check out the back 40
9:35

9:37

9:47

9:49
Daryl and Alexander are doing in the
9:51
back 40 it's an amazing program it's
9:54
really for all of us who are just a
9:56
little bit older than I don't know 10
10:00

10:04

10:09
get rid of this right now there we go
10:11
and then of course don't forget to go to
10:14
the little white lie calm i will put
10:17
that up there as well because i can
10:25
white good i got come so we're telling
10:30
you go and check out the back 40 go and
10:32
check out the little white lie calm make
10:34
sure you use hashtag so that we can
10:36
follow the conversation not just here in
10:38
the chat but all across the internet by
10:41
the way guys that's just a little tip
10:42
for everyone hashtag go across all
10:44
social media so when you go into google
10:47
and you put hashtag whatever it's going
10:49
to actually show you where that hashtag
10:51
has been used on Twitter Facebook
10:55
Pinterest wherever so that's why the
10:58
power of hashtags is so important here
11:00
make sure you put a hashtag you heard at
11:02
her first and also when you go over to
11:05
the little white light calm you can
11:07
five steps to uncovering your beautiful
11:10

11:35
playing so we'd love for you to come
11:38
play with us it's always fun if it's not
11:40
