2:33
into the stream
2:36
one two here we go and three
2:40
all right so here's video number one
2:42
take a listen
2:44
and enjoy so today i'm going to show you
2:47
some really easy and cool ways to
2:49
decorate your front entrance away for
2:50
halloween
2:51
i'm all about creativity and
2:53
affordability so let's start here
2:55
i love the concept of doing like a white
2:57
and black theme i think there's
2:58
something super elegant and
2:59
sophisticated about it
3:01
instead of just using your standard
3:02
orange and black so here we've got these
3:04
white and black pumpkins
3:06
these i purchased either at walmart for
3:08
like three dollars or michael's for
3:10
maybe two or three dollars
3:12
and then this i think looks really
3:14
amazing these are branches from my tree
3:16
in the backyard
3:17
i simply cut it off i got some craft
3:19
black paint
3:20
and i spray painted this in a matte
3:22
black that's waterproof
3:23
took a little bit of cobwebbing from the
3:25
dollar tree and then bought these
3:28
ravens on amazon i think for really
3:31
cheap as well maybe
3:32
15 of them for like 7.99 so i think this
3:35
is a great
3:36
little prop for your front door entrance
3:38
way
3:40
i got these crows from michaels you can
3:42
just go ahead and put
3:43
some animals like some rats and then
3:45
also i bought this
3:47
bird bath on let go for about ten
3:50
dollars last year
3:51
i filled it up with water and i kind of
3:53
made this mock little bird bath with
3:54
that which i think looks great as well
3:57
um the other thing i did was i took this
3:59
skeleton
4:00
that i just bought on amazon for about
4:01
20 bucks dressed up the skeleton in a
4:04
dress in an old veil
4:06
and then made it look like she was
4:07
having a cup of tea this is something
4:09
that i bought from the antique store for
4:10
five dollars
4:12
um these little props the flowers the
4:15
the rats and all of these chains i
4:17
bought at the 99 cent store
4:19
um and again more of the black
4:22
branches spray painted with the ravens
4:24
on top and then
4:26
the last thing i want to show you up
4:28
here is the door this is a really cool
4:30
wreath that i bought at walmart
4:32
and i bought this last year and it's
4:34
made of styrofoam
4:35
and i was so annoyed because his finger
4:38
was broken i went through like eight of
4:39
them
4:40
and all the fingers were broken so
4:41
instead of just putting it away what i
4:43
did was i painted his broken finger red
4:45
so it looks like he has a bloody
4:47
bloody finger so again it's all about
4:49
being super creative
4:50
this chain is from michael's it's three
4:52
dollars and fifty cents
4:54
and again we did this with the doorway
4:56
entrance and the birds and then again
4:58
more the pumpkins
4:59
so these are just some really cool and
5:00
easy ideas for you i want to bring you
5:02
inside now because i want to show you
5:04
how i decorated the mantels
5:06
inside my house that are really fun and
5:07
super easy for you now for the inside of
5:09
my house and i want to show you how i
5:11
decorated the mantel this year
5:12
we'll start off with these these are
5:14
candle holders that i recently just
5:15
purchased in michael's arts and crafts
5:18
and they were 50 off so they were about
5:19
14 each
5:21
and i just put the dollar store candles
5:23
in here um the skulls i love they look
5:25
kind of realistic
5:26
these i purchased at cost plus last year
5:28
along with these candles at cosplus
5:30
that were on clearance and i think these
5:33
were about three dollars these were
5:34
maybe about
5:35
seven or eight dollars um i took some
5:38
old antique books that i had from an
5:39
old bookshelf from 20 years ago and i
5:42
just stacked up two of the books
5:44
a little bird cage from the 99 store i
5:46
put a little raven from amazon
5:48
and then um down here i did these
5:51
skeleton little animals here again i
5:53
love the black and the white look in my
5:56
hat
5:56
in my home this is just a little fake
5:58
leafy branch that i picked up from
6:00
michael's
6:01
and again these are super easy i didn't
6:03
have to make anything
6:04
um inside here and really cool looking
6:07
and affordable
6:08
so welcome to my family room and i
6:10
wanted to show you the mantel that i've
6:11
done
6:11
here in the family room so again these
6:14
are white pumpkins that i recently just
6:15
bought at michael's
6:16
three dollars each these are real white
6:18
pumpkins that i purchased
6:20
at pavilions they were 89 cents on sale
6:22
today
6:23
and then again these candle stick
6:24
holders these are silver candlesticks
6:26
that i've owned for over 30 years
6:28
so be creative and look for things in
6:30
your house that you can actually use
6:32
and then the owls here i bought at the
6:34
99 cent store
6:35
and then again the cost plus candles
6:37
here i bought this little prop
6:39
from i think it was michael's the
6:41
feather from the dollar store
6:43
and then what i did was i've had these
6:46
antique print pictures for over 30 years
6:48
i've owned them
6:49
and what i did was i just hung them up
6:51
kind of crooked
6:52
and i put a little bit of webbing if you
6:55
want to get real close you can see the
6:56
webbing here
6:57
there's a little spider right there and
6:59
i hung them crooked which i
7:00
think adds kind of like this spooky feel
7:02
to your house if you don't have prints
7:04
like this
7:05
i would just go online and download
7:07
black and white prints
7:08
and buy really cheap frames they even
7:10
sell the frames at the dollar store
7:11
black frames and go ahead and do this
7:13
way so i think again
7:15
black and white theme super cool looking
7:17
elegant sophisticated
7:19
i hope you try these at home and we're
7:22
back
7:23
oh my gosh i'm so excited you are so
7:26
talented um we have a comment i want to
7:28
put up on the screen okay um
7:30
adrienne says can't wait to see what
7:32
you're going to make
7:33
i can't either i think it's scary food
7:35
though right
7:37
it's fun kid and inspired food i love
7:39
halloween i always have i remember going
7:41
trick-or-treating with my two
7:42
older sisters and i mean what kid
7:45
doesn't love getting dressed up and
7:46
getting a bunch of candy
7:48
so i hosted a halloween party every year
7:50
for my daughter here at the house since
7:51
she was
7:52
three years old and we decorate the
7:54
house the outside
7:55
and the inside and we do really fun
7:57
foods and desserts
7:59
um and it's just honestly the last part
8:02
of the year you know and in this day and
8:05
age that we're living in right now and
8:07
so many of the states are saying
8:08
you know it's not safe to send the kids
8:10
out this is a perfect thing to do
8:12
at home and it's why we did this show
8:13
you when i talked about this
8:15
it's why we did the show it's a way to
8:16
bring halloween inside
8:18
if you're used to being outside all the
8:20
time so i'm going to put you on
8:22
solo i'm going to have you introduce our
8:24
friends and we're going to start cooking
8:26
in the kitchen with you
8:27
here we go so the first thing that we're
8:29
going to make is a bloody tomato soup
8:31
and i call this the vampire soup
8:33
and my first little uh kitchen assistant
8:36
is going to be miss
8:37
vivian so vivian come on out hi how are
8:39
you
8:40
good good good you put your little
8:43
poker down okay so we're gonna do this
8:45
tomato soup and i'll tell you why i love
8:48
this tomato soup
8:49
most children and kids as you know they
8:50
really do like the flavor of tomato soup
8:53
but i do notice notice that there's a
8:55
lot of cream and butter and it tends to
8:57
be a little bit um
8:58
on the not so healthy side so this is a
9:01
really delicious roasted tomato soup
9:02
that i make that doesn't have
9:04
any dairy in it we're going to use a
9:06
little bit of yogurt just to do the
9:08
garnish at the end but that's something
9:09
that you can obviously
9:10
omit as well so video we're going to
9:12
start i'm going to just kind of direct
9:14
you and you're basically just going to
9:15
be doing this by yourself
9:17
so we're going to start with about a
9:18
tablespoon of olive oil so if you want
9:20
to grab that olive oil
9:21
and just drizzle it into the pot it's
9:23
hot here okay
9:25
that's perfect so we've got about a
9:27
tablespoon of olive oil in here
9:29
and then we're just gonna put the onions
9:31
here i have one
9:32
uh brown onion that's you know medium
9:34
dice as well as two cloves of garlic so
9:37
go ahead and grab that bowl
9:38
and i'll hold it for you and just pour
9:40
that in and that's going into the
9:44
soup pot here and we're just gonna cook
9:47
this
9:48
i usually cook this for about 10 minutes
9:50
until it's tender
9:51
and so i've got it on pretty high heat
9:53
right now so go ahead and give that a
9:55
serving
9:58
and i love this recipe as well because a
10:01
lot of the stuff that you
10:02
that you have here we have in the pantry
10:04
you know we really have olive oil
10:06
usually some crushed tomato
10:08
i'm using um crushed italian tomatoes
10:11
here
10:11
you can use fire roasted tomatoes you
10:14
can use a really good
10:15
bottle of marinara sauce just use what
10:17
you have i'm all about practicality
10:20
so we're going to go ahead and saute
10:22
this and obviously we're doing this in
10:23
real time now so we're going to move a
10:25
little bit faster
10:27
um so begin let's go ahead and put the
10:28
dry spices in there's some dry oregano
10:30
and basil it's a teaspoon of each
10:33
that can go in and then we're going to
10:35
do the salt
10:36
and pepper it's about a teaspoon of
10:38
kosher salt about half a teaspoon of
10:40
fresh black pepper
10:41
and a teaspoon of sugar it's not that
10:43
much but the sugar is important because
10:46
the tomatoes are acidic and so it's just
10:48
going to take a little bit of that
10:50
acid out of the out of the tomato soup
10:53
we're going to give that a serving you
10:55
smell the onions in the garlic that's so
10:56
good
10:57
yeah so i know you really like to cook
11:00
yes i do
11:00
yeah what kind of things do you like to
11:02
cook at home well um my grandma makes
11:04
these really good
11:05
like they're kind of like meatballs and
11:07
fresh and they're called
11:09
okay and yeah they're really good also
11:11
like salads
11:12
cut salads and pumpkins that sounds
11:16
great
11:16
so let's go ahead and pour the crushed
11:18
tomatoes in here now just
11:19
use two hands and you're gonna go ahead
11:21
and dump the tomatoes in
11:22
perfect all of it great
11:26
and you're just going to give it a stir
11:28
and then the last thing that we're going
11:29
to add here just to give it a little bit
11:31
more
11:31
um body and liquid to the to the soup
11:34
we're going to add a little bit of
11:35
chicken stock and
11:37
again you can use vegetable broth if you
11:38
wanted to you don't have to use chicken
11:40
i feel like the chicken definitely adds
11:42
a lot more flavor
11:44
but by all means go ahead and use
11:46
vegetable stock if you want to keep it
11:47
completely vegan
11:48
so go ahead and take the cap off of that
11:52
chicken stock and just pour i would say
11:54
maybe about two cups and i'll tell you
11:55
when so just go ahead and pour
11:58
perfect coupon
12:05
and just give it a gentle stir um this
12:07
is one of my favorite this is probably
12:09
my favorite
12:10
organic chicken stock that's on the
12:11
market right now it's from a company
12:12
called imagine
12:14
and it's the only one that i buy
12:15
literally you unscrew the top
12:17
and you smell it it smells like a pot of
12:20
chicken soup that's been boiling in your
12:21
house so i
12:22
highly highly recommend this company
12:24
brand imagine
12:26
okay so now we're gonna what we're gonna
12:28
do is we're just gonna bring this to a
12:30
boil
12:31
and then we're gonna reduce it to a
12:32
simmer and we're gonna cook this for
12:34
about 20 minutes
12:35
over the stove so we obviously don't
12:37
have that time right now
12:39
so i already have a batch that's already
12:41
made so we're gonna scoop this aside
12:43
so i'm gonna put this on the stove to
12:45
continue cooking
12:48
and i'm just gonna move my burner
12:54
and so we're going to pretend that uh
12:56
the soup has been cooking on the stove
12:57
for 20 minutes and it's done
12:59
and so this is what it looks like it's
13:01
just cooked down
13:02
it's reduced a little bit the tomatoes
13:04
have gotten really sweet bit
13:06
and now what we want to do is puree it
13:08
so there are a couple different methods
13:10
that you can use
13:11
i like using the vitamix blender because
13:13
you're going to get the smoothest
13:15
creamiest puree with this if you don't
13:17
have a vitamix you could use a regular
13:19
blender
13:20
you could also use a food processor or a
13:22
handheld blender
13:24
but by far this is i think the best way
13:27
to puree the soup
13:29
and because it whips it up so creamy
13:32
and so it purees it so so much it adds a
13:36
creaminess to this
13:37
soup that you wouldn't be able to
13:39
achieve with
13:40
something that wouldn't puree it as well
13:42
so we're gonna put a few spoons of the
13:45
tomato soup in here and we're just gonna
13:49
put the
13:49
lid on and it's just gonna take a couple
13:51
of seconds
14:07
so i'm going to take a quick peek
14:11
and i think that was about 10 seconds
14:13
and this is the texture that you're
14:14
looking for i mean there are no clumps
14:17
or anything chunky anymore and then i'm
14:20
just gonna pour it
14:21
into i like using
14:24
always white bowls i think it looks
14:28
great
14:30
i think a really fun garnish that um i
14:32
like to do is
14:33
there's some greek yogurt in here you
14:34
can also use sour cream
14:36
if you don't want to use dairy you don't
14:38
have to garnish but i think it looks
14:39
really cute so i just put it in a little
14:41
ziploc bag
14:42
it's like my makeshift pastry bag i'm
14:44
gonna do one in the show viv
14:46
and then she can do her own and then um
14:48
i just cut the little tip right here
14:53
and then i'm just gonna start in the
14:55
middle and then i'll bring this closer
14:56
so that the viewers can have a better
14:57
look
14:58
i'm just doing a swirl just like this
15:04
just like that so go ahead and try this
15:06
strut in the center and just do like a
15:07
little
15:08
just squeeze down and squeeze gently
15:11
and then i'm going to get a skewer and
15:12
i'm going to start from the middle
15:15
and i'm just going to bring it out to
15:18
the edge oh you did a
15:19
better job than i did so you bring
15:24
it out to the edge and it makes this
15:26
really cute you start here vivian and
15:27
you go
15:28
out and it makes this really cute web
15:30
pattern like a
15:32
spiderweb pattern which i think is
15:33
really festive
15:36
that looks great vivian's it's better
15:38
than mine i have to say
15:40
thank you
15:43
so there you go that's our vampire
15:46
bloody tomato soup you did such a great
15:48
job vivian
15:49
so i'm going to clear this up and then
15:51
we'll get on to our next dish
15:54
which is going to be a bloody eyeball
15:57
spaghetti
15:58
and i'm going to have my little cook
16:01
chloe come join me
16:04
hi chloe hi how are you good
16:07
good i'm just going to clear this and
16:08
bring the other things in now
16:11
so if you hold that there
16:17
all right so we're going to make these
16:20
turkey meatballs and we're going to make
16:21
them look like eyeballs so
16:23
what we want to do is get the
16:25
ingredients um incorporated first
16:27
so we have about a pound of ground
16:30
turkey i love using the dark meat i feel
16:32
like it has more flavor
16:34
i feel like it's more tender and it's
16:36
not that much more caloric than the
16:37
white meat as well if you wanted to use
16:39
chicken
16:40
you could use ground chicken if you
16:41
wanted to use beef or pork you could
16:43
do that as well i like the turkey
16:45
because it's really tender and it
16:46
tends to be a little bit more healthy so
16:48
we're going to add some ingredients
16:50
to this um so club let's add about um
16:52
half a cup of bread crumbs and you can
16:54
dump
16:54
just the whole thing in there yep
16:58
perfect and then we're going to add
17:00
about half a cup of parmesan cheese
17:05
perfect that's okay and then we're going
17:08
to add our dry
17:09
seasonings and what i love about this
17:12
meatball recipe is
17:14
i use all dry spices like dried onion
17:17
powder and garlic powder dried oregano
17:19
and basil
17:20
and it's great because these are items
17:22
that you normally have in your pantry
17:23
they're not going to go bad you don't
17:25
have to use fresh garlic
17:26
or onion you don't have to run out to
17:27
the store these are ingredients that
17:29
last
17:30
a really long time in your pantry so go
17:32
ahead and put the dry spices in chloe
17:34
and again onion powder yep garlic powder
17:37
uh fresh black pepper kosher salt some
17:41
oregano and basil
17:44
great and then
17:47
we are going to add one egg and whatever
17:51
i know a lot of people have different
17:53
ways of cracking eggs you know some
17:54
people
17:54
crack it on the edge um i would
17:57
recommend
17:58
always crack the egg on a flat surface i
18:00
never crack it on a bowl
18:02
because the shell could crack here and
18:03
you get bits of
18:05
eggshell in your food which you don't
18:07
want so i always use a flat surface and
18:10
i crack my egg
18:11
in a bowl first because if i crack it
18:13
directly in here and i get a piece of
18:15
shell in there
18:16
i'm going to try digging through it
18:17
through all of this cheese it's it's
18:19
really difficult
18:20
especially with baking as well so go
18:22
ahead
18:23
chloe one tap here right in here and
18:25
let's make sure that we don't get any
18:26
shell in there and then if we do get a
18:28
shell in there we can pull it out before
18:29
we
18:30
actually put it in there
18:34
excellent you've done that before
18:37
nope that's not that's not a shell if
18:39
you happen to get a little piece of
18:41
shell
18:42
the easiest way is to just go ahead and
18:44
grab
18:45
this shell put it next to the piece and
18:48
it scoops right out it kind of
18:49
wants to attach itself to it so that's
18:53
good so we can get the egg in there
18:56
okay and chloe's hands are clean so
18:58
she's just gonna go ahead and start
18:59
mushing
18:59
so go ahead and mash i'll get all of
19:02
that incorporated
19:03
so you get the meat and everything in
19:05
there and we're gonna start rolling
19:06
a couple of the meatballs if your hands
19:09
get sticky
19:10
while you're doing this you could use a
19:11
bowl of cold water just to rinse them
19:13
and then form the meatballs as well but
19:15
if your meat's really cold
19:17
it tends to be pretty easy to roll the
19:18
meatballs and i would say
19:20
roll them about the size of a golf ball
19:22
i think is a good size
19:24
they will shrink slightly as we're
19:25
cooking them
19:28
good job so just give it a few more
19:31
matches
19:34
it like all went together we're still
19:36
doing it for now yeah right
19:39
okay so once it's incorporated i would
19:41
say i think your hands are fine so i
19:43
would grab
19:44
maybe like the size of a golf ball just
19:46
like this i think this size is perfect
19:49
so just go ahead and put a couple in
19:50
here club use your pant your the palm
19:52
zip your hand roll over all
19:53
great and then we're gonna put we're
19:56
gonna fill that up
19:57
that's perfect and then what i do is i
20:00
put about one cup of water in here with
20:03
the lid on
20:04
and i cook this for about 30 minutes on
20:06
the stove and then i drain the water and
20:08
then i add some really good quality
20:10
marinara sauce
20:11
usually i make my own and i put in the
20:12
freezer but if you don't have
20:14
any homemade ones my favorite is brows
20:16
that i use this is an amazing
20:20
amazing marinara bristol farms also
20:21
makes a really really good one
20:26
so you can wash your hands chloe so i
20:28
have some meatballs that have already
20:30
been cooking for 30 minutes
20:31
because um we don't have time to wait
20:33
around for these
20:34
so i'm gonna move these here
20:42
so these have been cooking on the stove
20:45
in the water for 30 minutes like i said
20:47
we drained the water
20:48
and it added a little bit of the
20:50
marinara sauce
20:53
and so what we want to do is we want to
20:54
make these meatballs look like eyeballs
20:56
so
20:57
khloe i just have slices of provolone
20:59
cheese you can use
21:00
any cheese that you want you can use
21:02
mozzarella slices provolone
21:04
jack um yours bring anything you like so
21:07
we're gonna go ahead and use a basic
21:10
cookie cutter
21:11
and just go ahead and maybe try to get
21:13
three of these chloe think i can get
21:16
like four
21:17
okay you probably can't
21:20
okay and then once you cut it you're
21:22
gonna put this on the meatball
21:24
and that's gonna be like the white part
21:25
of the eye go ahead it looks like a
21:27
happy face
21:28
yeah yep
21:32
so let's do a couple more
21:36
perfect you put it right directly on
21:38
there yep let's do
21:39
one more piece of cheese and put it on
21:41
there and then
21:42
once she finishes the cheese here we
21:44
have little olive slices just sliced
21:46
olives
21:47
they look like the middle part of the
21:48
eye so that's going to go on top
21:50
of the cheese here
21:53
and then i'm just going to put the lid
21:55
on it and it's just going to kind of
21:56
like melt a little bit so it looks kind
21:58
of like a gooey eyeball
22:00
okay so let's go ahead and put the olive
22:02
oil afterwards and while you're doing
22:04
that i just drained my pasta and i
22:06
tossed it in a little bit of the
22:07
marinara sauce
22:08
so i'm going to get that onto a platter
22:11
and then we're gonna get this on the
22:12
stove
22:13
melt the cheese make these look like
22:14
bloody gooey eyeballs and then we're
22:16
gonna plate our pasta
22:18
so two more here and then put the lid on
22:21
please and can you bring that pan
22:22
and just set it on the stove here for me
22:24
please it's right
22:26
here
22:33
got it yeah right there you're great so
22:36
this is the pasta that i've drained i've
22:38
just tossed it lightly in the marinara
22:39
sauce
22:45
and so this is just going to go on the
22:48
bottom of your platter
22:50
and again i love white platters and
22:52
dishes
22:55
and then i'm just going to clean up this
22:56
little spill and
22:58
that literally is just going to take
22:59
like 30 seconds for that cheese to melt
23:01
and make it look like a runny bloody
23:04
eyeball so i'm just going to move this
23:07
and i'm going to bring vivian back over
23:09
here viv
23:10
why don't you come over here next to
23:11
chloe and i'll let you guys put the
23:13
eyeballs
23:16
on the pasta okay
23:19
so just a few more seconds for that
23:24
so chloe um if you could eat
23:27
one thing for the rest of your life you
23:29
have to pick like one thing to eat
23:31
what do you think that would be maybe a
23:33
fruit
23:34
a fruit is like a specific kind of fruit
23:38
watermelon watermelon sounds good i
23:40
could do that blueberries
23:41
okay and what about you baby if you
23:44
could
23:45
eat one food for like the rest of your
23:47
life like what would that food be
23:49
probably um probably sushi
23:52
sushi good choice woman after my own
23:54
heart
23:56
okay so let's check those meatballs
24:06
okay so if you can see in the camera the
24:08
cheese is melted they look like little
24:10
eyeballs they look really cute
24:12
so i just go ahead and put the meatballs
24:15
right on there do you girls want to do a
24:17
couple too yeah
24:20
sure
24:27
so this is our bloody creepy eyeball
24:30
spaghetti
24:32
you girls did a great job thank you so
24:34
do you guys want to give a shout out to

25:34
halloween
25:35
and because it's coming up in two weeks
25:37
well you know
25:38
i'm kind of disappointed because we
25:40
usually have a party for about 20 people
25:42
i'm still gonna do a very small party
25:44
with maybe just five
25:46
five of the girls that we've seen since
25:48
quarantine
25:49
and just maybe descale it a bit and
25:51
since we can't go trick-or-treating from
25:52
door-to-door
25:54
what i'm going to do is get a huge
25:55
pinata and fill it with candy
25:57
and then that way it breaks and they can
25:59
take as much candy as they want because
