Apr 22, 2023
While we should care for the planet every day, Earth Day is a time for everyone to come together and protect Mother Earth. What started as an act of Congress, became a yearly celebration where everyone does something special. Some places hold marches, while others have services. On The Earth Day show, we share the history of this great holiday, some easy ways to be eco-friendly, and even some green gear to buy. We can invest in our planet together. welcome to one on one we have a very
0:04
special show today all about Earth day
0:07
and how you should invest in your planet
0:10
without further ado
0:12
let's go there's a place
0:17
[Music]
0:22
[Music]
0:27
uh welcome to the show everybody this is
0:29
one on one a conversation where we go
0:31
over the topics that are important and
0:34
key to everyday life I'm here with my
0:37
mom slash co-host in that order
0:39
obviously
0:41
um we want to remind people Rob if
0:43
they're here live
0:45
you have questions or comments make
0:48
a chat okay because and I see we have
0:49
some people online right now so
0:52
so this is a very cool topic very
0:54
important and while I think we both
0:56
would agree every day is a day to
0:58
protect the planet obviously for various
1:00
reasons we have Earth Day uh and if
1:03
you're joining us today it'll actually
1:04
be tomorrow in our part of the country
1:06
so happy early Earth Day
1:09
I thought we would go over some of the
1:11
aspects of how it came to be and the
1:14
creation is extra interesting did did
1:15
you know that it actually was a
1:18
government law before it was actually
1:21
the day did you realize that did you I
1:24
did not know so Back in 1970 which is
1:27
when we had the I guess first official
1:31
if you want to call it this was due to
1:33
the to a few acts there was the National
1:36
Environmental Education Act which
1:38
basically taught the importance of
1:40
environment there was the occupational
1:42
safety and health act which is what
1:44
basically keeps you working and out of
1:48
injury and lastly the Clean Air Act and
1:52
that was actually the one that started
1:54
it all right uh with that and the Clean
1:56
Air Act was basically the government
1:58
going hey we should be breathing healthy
2:00
air so good for you government yay
2:04
um but what this did was it basically a
2:06
past loss to make sure that people and
2:09
other non-human creatures were free from
2:11
different issues this also put into
2:14
effect of how we use insecticides and
2:17
fungicides as well which is a whole you
2:20
know that's a whole food thing obviously
2:21
but how interesting is that I mean
2:24
literally this day came out of whoever
2:26
was present at the time bless you thank
2:29
you
2:30
um and decided hey we should have clean
2:32
air so let's do it exactly I remember in
2:36
La when we when when we both lived in
2:39
Los Angeles and the big thing was
2:40
cleaning up LA's um pollution and and
2:43
the the air that we breathe and
2:46
unfortunately
2:48
in current times it's right back to
2:50
being where it was after we cleaned it
2:52
all up pretty sad actually
2:54
and many places and Medics uh you know
2:57
La San Francisco uh New York uh Dallas
3:00
all the big cities you know the places
3:02
you want to visit right right
3:04
um those are the places that have the
3:06
most problem and that's because of
3:08
people Coalition as I call it right
3:10
because of stuff like cars because of
3:12
stuff like factories
3:14
everything I forgot what you call but
3:17
everything has some sort of exhaustion
3:20
emissions thank you so even when you
3:23
make something like for instance we're
3:24
going to talk about these later but when
3:26
you when you plant you are creating
3:28
emissions the difference is is natural
3:32
emissions usually you go back into the
3:34
system and they do what they're supposed
3:36
to but when you're making
3:38
anything that you have I mean look
3:40
around your guys's house right now
3:42
unfortunately even though these are
3:44
things that we need we haven't yet
3:46
figured out the full how to fix it so
3:49
like like my mom said here
3:51
we're back to square one especially when
3:54
it comes to air pollution and for that
3:56
matter water pollution that's a big deal
3:58
too and I I think that the air the air
4:01
pollution actually is coming from the
4:03
many fires that have been burning in our
4:06
state and and that the the
4:08
basically that exhaust that comes from
4:11
from the fires and it's it's up there so
4:13
you know that is true and it's funny
4:15
because I'm not sure if you really
4:18
can count that as bad per se because
4:21
fires tend to happen but at the same
4:25
time yeah but if they burn homes and
4:28
homes have all those all those things
4:30
and that's why they burn so fast by the
4:32
way that's why that we're seeing these
4:34
fires explode because so many the
4:36
clothes we wear the furniture that we
4:38
sit on
4:39
um the the plates and everything that we
4:41
have is is not necessarily made from
4:44
natural things
4:47
that is true and I think I've read many
4:49
articles saying that it's kind of
4:51
because of that as to why right that's a
4:53
good point there so jump a few decades
4:55
into the 90s and this is where things
4:57
went Global thanks to a little thing
5:00
called the internet now the it became
5:03
more Global in the 2010s right but
5:05
because of the internet we were able to
5:07
basically as they say mobilize everybody
5:10
so at this point 20 million people in
5:14
141 countries began doing something
5:18
um Earth Day 1990 uh gave a big boost to
5:22
recycling and it helped paved the way to
5:25
1992 United Nations in Rio de Janeiro
5:28
which is one of the few places left on
5:30
Earth that actually is nice to be in I
5:33
know you you visited Costa Rica it's
5:35
like that are very very good again
5:39
because the people there kind of give
5:41
more of a damn about that and there's
5:43
fewer people there and there's fewer
5:45
people there and and I think that's also
5:48
right so how about so how about that
5:50
that is pretty neat 141 countries now
5:52
I'm not sure I'll tell my how many
5:54
countries we have in the world but I
5:56
would probably guesstimate that that's
5:57
probably maybe 80 85 percent of the
6:00
countries out there I don't know I
6:02
actually had that number I I don't know
6:04
I'm just making up numbers in my head
6:06
because I don't do that
6:08
um and then of course at the United
6:09
Nations that was a big deal too we know
6:12
that that's the place everybody goes and
6:14
when you have to kind of get people
6:15
together so what do you think I mean
6:18
it's twofold it's definitely on us but
6:23
it also falls on the shoulders of the
6:25
leaders of various countries right right
6:28
and I mean I remember back in the day
6:30
even before the 90s when I was singing
6:32
you know for kids and they would do
6:34
these Earth Day celebrations in the park
6:37
um whether it's San Diego in Balboa Park
6:40
or San Francisco in Bellville there's a
6:42
there's a theme Here both have Balboa
6:44
Parks
6:45
um they would do these events um but
6:47
there were more Grassroots and they were
6:49
not as
6:50
um full Productions as they are right
6:53
now so okay
6:56
so oh yeah no and that's actually a good
6:58
example too because I know a lot of
6:59
people try to do that nowadays I think
7:02
it's Japan that puts on some sort of
7:05
concert and they get their you know
7:07
their big time names to come and
7:10
proceeds or what have you go to working
7:13
and stuff like that so it's cool it's
7:15
it's far and few unfortunately but when
7:18
you do see it
7:19
I give them a round of applause you know
7:21
well as you said in the beginning of the
7:23
show every day should be Earth Day we
7:25
need to protect our planet yeah no I
7:28
yeah
7:29
so let's Flash Forward 2010s and this is
7:32
where earthday.org got people into the
7:36
groove of course if you haven't already
7:37
this is a free website everybody can go
7:40
to it has all the information on what
7:42
you can do uh societies you can give to
7:45
we're going to talk about one later of
7:46
course and it gives you all the
7:48
information about where we're at and
7:50
while a lot of it is kind of sad it's
7:53
meant to be a teaching moment rather
7:57
than a depressing a depressing moment
8:00
and what this did was this brought even
8:03
more people around this actually bumped
8:04
to
8:05
141-193 countries so almost 200
8:08
countries by 2010s started doing Civic
8:11
engagement volunteering all that stuff
8:14
and more than one billion people every
8:16
year since then have become a strong
8:19
stepping stone to encourage others and
8:22
that's a key Point too we obviously like
8:24
I said every day is our day every every
8:26
day we should but I think it's also
8:27
important to teach others to do so maybe
8:30
your neighbors can't get a hold of the
8:32
internet maybe people you know don't
8:34
have the technology so it's up to you
8:36
whether it's a phone call whether it's
8:38
whatever and go hey I know you may not
8:41
be at harm per se but
8:45
if you haven't noticed you know maybe
8:47
recycle some of those cans maybe reuse
8:50
some of those stuff and we'll talk about
8:51
in a few minutes what you can do
8:54
um but actually I was going to ask you
8:55
because you're talking about when you
8:57
did it for like my grandparents for your
8:59
parents was it was there a gap between
9:02
them versus you versus me I don't think
9:05
there was like an earth day that was I
9:07
mean even by the the um dates that
9:09
you've been giving the first one was in
9:11
1970. now I was I was just getting out
9:14
of high school at that point or soon
9:16
after that so if you talk about my
9:18
parents or grandparents it wasn't even
9:20
around I mean there was no Earth Day and
9:22
I think
9:23
um as we become more socially conscious
9:25
that's that is why it happened but there
9:28
wasn't anything back then I was curious
9:30
this whole time I'm like I gotta ask her
9:32
if that was a thing because I feel like
9:34
you're right it was more of a newer you
9:36
know and again even though it says 1970
9:38
there might have been people that tried
9:40
but it probably wasn't a worldwide
9:43
scenario right and probably you know we
9:46
didn't have the tech we didn't have all
9:48
the stuff that we have the cars and the
9:50
and all those things back or we had cars
9:53
but not as many and not as many uh
9:56
resources that provided you know
9:58
pollution and things like that we've
10:01
only in our
10:02
you know and I will say because I watch
10:05
a lot of shows about you know native
10:07
cultures if you watch any show on TV
10:10
today about people who live you know
10:12
like near volcanoes or live off of
10:14
islands right it's night and day people
10:16
like it's almost Spacey you look at
10:19
these places that have no cities no
10:22
whatever and it's pristine I mean I
10:25
think what is it Bermuda is like known
10:27
for having crystal clear because they
10:29
make a point of not allowing ships right
10:32
and light right so I should just put it
10:35
out there I mean if you guys go on
10:36
YouTube and you look up these places
10:38
you're not going to believe these are
10:40
real worlds like you're going to think
10:41
this is some sort of fantasy right right
10:43
and and I go back to when you know when
10:46
you were traveling you looked and I'm
10:47
sure you could probably picture the
10:49
rainforest in Costa Rica and the beaches
10:51
it was totally different I'm sure yeah
10:53
and we haven't been there in many many
10:55
years I don't know what Costa Rica looks
10:56
like right now but we we were there
10:58
three times and it was amazing it was
11:00
magnificent is the word I wanted there
11:03
you go it was magnificent so I'm hoping
11:05
that it hasn't gone too downhill you
11:08
know
11:09
I'm going to give them the benefit and
11:11
say yeah good job yep all right so
11:13
obviously we moved to today so what is
11:15
it today and you know and this goes back
11:17
to the holiday thing as again I'm not a
11:19
big fan of calling it something but
11:21
today really the thing is the observance
11:22
and this is where obviously you and I
11:24
are digging home to make it every day
11:26
I'm glad that there is a day don't get
11:29
me wrong but it's kind of I think
11:31
missing the points a little bit now it
11:33
still gets a lot of people in action you
11:35
have a lot of people doing more
11:37
um internet things more whatever but
11:40
what do you think I mean it
11:41
it's kind of one of those things where
11:44
every Earth Day there's that thing and
11:46
you watch it on TV and you get together
11:48
but then you kind of just dissipate and
11:50
it's like yeah and I I think that um I
11:55
don't know about your trash can
11:56
situation but I know all of our homes
11:58
here where we live we not only just have
12:00
the regular trash can we have the
12:02
recycled trash can right yes yeah it's
12:05
really big it used to be a choice it's
12:06
no longer a choice you have a recycled
12:08
trash can and you put your stuff in
12:10
there do you like it or not and you know
12:12
and it's a great way to do it I mean one
12:14
of the things that I'm kind of looking
12:15
into right now is composting you know
12:17
what do you do with all your food scraps
12:19
and put it right back into the Earth and
12:20
things like that there's so many things
12:22
that we can do that we didn't have back
12:23
then or if we had it we didn't have
12:25
equipment I'm sure they composted back
12:27
then you know they had things yeah
12:29
exactly but but it's becoming more user
12:32
friendly and it's becoming easier for us
12:34
as as individuals and citizens to
12:37
actually do something to help our our
12:40
environment
12:41
and it's one of the few times I think
12:42
when it comes to like you said a law
12:44
where you have to do it it makes perfect
12:46
sense it makes it easier for the person
12:48
to do because you don't really have a
12:49
choice and they kind of take care of it
12:51
actually today is garbage day so they're
12:53
going up and down the aisles right now
12:54
but yeah you're right it's nice that
12:56
they make you but they take care of it
12:59
so it's like okay all you gotta do is
13:00
put your garbage out we'll have the guy
13:02
come and then you bring them in
13:04
and here's the thing I mean I can
13:06
honestly say back in back before when we
13:08
didn't have the recycle bin we only had
13:10
the big trash can we in order to recycle
13:13
we would have to take our stuff to a
13:16
recycling center which for most of us
13:19
that was like not in our day we just
13:21
didn't have time to do that so the fact
13:24
that we can do this now and we don't
13:25
have to think about it and we're filling
13:28
up these trash you know these trash cans
13:30
with cans and bottles and and the stuff
13:32
it makes me feel like I'm doing
13:33
something really really good without
13:35
actually having to go and do anything
13:36
special
13:37
and not to not to offend anybody but I
13:40
think for the human race generally if
13:42
it's easy to do exactly you're gonna do
13:44
it so just putting out there again no
13:47
offense to anybody I'm just saying if
13:48
they make it easy for you yeah I agree
13:51
so why not talk about some of our ways
13:53
to help AKA how to guide and we have
13:57
some pretty cool stuff I think
14:00
um first up
14:01
we'll go right into plants and gardening
14:03
so we both have two very different ways
14:05
of doing so I don't know if you want to
14:06
go first you want me to go first okay so
14:09
as much as I love the garden don't get
14:11
me wrong I have nothing against it I go
14:13
the easy way I prefer to get my plants
14:15
in a pot and put them in my household I
14:17
actually have my allergies too
14:19
supposedly so that's kind of nice okay
14:20
but I go
14:23
and you've heard me talk about it on my
14:25
show you and I have talked about it
14:26
before these are the best easiest things
14:30
and if you kill plants don't worry this
14:33
thing doesn't die you can literally let
14:35
it go so what is that what kind of plant
14:37
is that
14:38
so this is called a snake plant
14:41
um apparently whoever found it said it
14:43
looked like snakes coming out of the
14:44
ground there is one called a spider
14:46
plant that actually looks like it's
14:48
falling I don't know guys I don't buy it
14:50
but what I love about it
14:53
um oh actually I was talking about a
14:54
comment from Krista really quick before
14:55
I go on let me put this up
15:00
yeah I'm you so you remember going to a
15:02
recycling center it was out of the way
15:04
it was nice to have you know so it's
15:06
really nice to have it here but I guess
15:08
it was like a kind of a cool thing to do
15:10
with your dad right so you did this
15:12
together and he taught you I guess by
15:14
doing this right Krista is that you
15:15
that's what you did you recycled yeah
15:17
very cool
15:18
there you go thank you
15:20
um all right so these are great and
15:22
these you can pick up online almost
15:24
anywhere if you have a Home Depot nearby
15:26
and really all you do and I'm not
15:29
kidding you literally can do every
15:31
couple weeks once a month you put a
15:33
little water in the pot I'm not going to
15:34
take it out because it's kind of messy
15:35
in there and you let it be and what's
15:38
nice about these is not only does it
15:40
actually not die but it purifies so if
15:44
you are if you have allergies if you
15:46
have asthma if you have some sort of
15:48
related
15:49
um you know thing these will actually
15:51
help your um
15:54
your your allergies so safe there you go
15:57
teaching the importance of recycling
15:58
thank you and we're going to talk about
15:59
in a minute too so keep that in mind so
16:02
I love this this is my thing now I know
16:04
you go the outdoorsy way so what do you
16:06
do I didn't used to let's be let's be
16:09
honest I I used to say I have a brown
16:11
thumb I killed everything it didn't
16:13
matter what I did but I have a friend
16:15
who said you don't have a green thumb a
16:17
brown thumb you just don't know how to
16:18
do it yet and she told me so I went out
16:21
and got a
16:22
um a self-watering planter that sits
16:25
outside we put in I don't think like a
16:27
hundred pounds of soil a potting soil
16:31
and then we planted plants and the thing
16:33
went crazy I put it outside my front uh
16:36
kitchen window it went so crazy that I
16:39
had to start pulling things out
16:40
everything was getting like choked in
16:43
there and I no longer have a brown thumb
16:45
I have a green thumb my plants are
16:47
actually growing it's way way cool so I
16:49
have I have some herbs and I have some
16:51
flowers
16:53
kind of cool so you got some pretty and
16:55
some edible at the same time yes and
16:57
then I know you brought up the compost
16:58
too but that also kind of counts as
17:00
gardening right so yeah absolutely let
17:01
people know how does that work a little
17:03
bit just over though so um you can eat
17:05
you can buy one of those machines that
17:07
you can turn and meaning has a thing on
17:09
it and you just you rotate it you put
17:11
your food scraps in there literally
17:13
every single piece of your food scraps
17:15
you left you had a little piece of bread
17:17
left over you put it in there you have
17:19
some vegetable everything you scrape in
17:22
there and then you turn it and it called
17:25
composting it literally turns into soil
17:29
coolest thing ever now you can do these
17:32
outside in your backyard you can have a
17:34
place that's you know just dirt and you
17:36
put the stuff in and you till it you I
17:37
think that's the right word and it
17:39
becomes really really nutrient Rich
17:42
because it comes from the food soil and
17:44
then you take that soil and put it in my
17:46
planter or you put it in the little pots
17:48
that you're growing it's it's it's a
17:51
really great thing and they're making
17:52
them now so they don't smell and I'm
17:54
sure you know they're like well doesn't
17:56
that thing smell you can put it right
17:58
under your kitchen counter right under
18:00
your kitchen sink it has a cover on it
18:02
it has like I guess it's organic it's
18:04
not something bad and it takes the smell
18:06
away and um you're doing something good
18:09
for the environment so how good is that
18:12
hey I'm down I'm done
18:15
um so there you go so that's the first
18:16
one now the second one we talked about
18:18
too recycling just as Christo was saying
18:20
a minute ago but kind of more upcycling
18:23
too and you'll notice that there's a
18:24
theme that I have here it's all like
18:26
animal related things but you can do so
18:29
much so a few months ago I was looking
18:31
at my jeans and I'm like these look like
18:33
crap there's holes in them I whatever
18:35
and I stopped for a second I'm like wait
18:38
a minute because I I was on I think
18:39
Pinterest or something and somebody was
18:41
making uh dog toys and I was like oh so
18:44
I found the website and this is one of
18:46
many so this is a it's supposed to be a
18:48
donut and basically all I did was the
18:51
pant leg of the jeans uh fold in one
18:55
side tied it together if you see them
18:57
not right there yeah and it's a chew toy
18:59
now have my dogs used it no I don't
19:01
think they know what it is yet because
19:04
that's them but I made another one with
19:07
the Bell part and you just cut a strip
19:09
and it's basically a tug of war but it's
19:11
pretty neat and I think you know it's
19:15
it's weird but it's not I mean I guess
19:17
people have been doing this clothing
19:19
thing for a while right I guess I guess
19:21
I I again I love the idea of upcycling
19:23
you taught me that it's not recycling
19:25
it's upcycling I love that
19:27
so that's the first one the second one
19:29
that we don't have because we threw out
19:31
our we recycled our boxes excuse me not
19:34
throughout recycled but you can make
19:36
kitty cat tree or cat cave boxes why
19:40
well because what cat doesn't want to
19:42
play in the box and I can explain I can
19:44
tell you that every time we get my cat
19:46
something they can care less about the
19:47
thing and they're just like ooh box so
19:50
why not just do what they do regularly
19:52
take some uh crazy glue or some Gorilla
19:55
Glue stack it how you want you can have
19:57
fun with you can make a castle you can
19:58
do whatever and you reuse it and to be
20:01
honest even though cats do scratch
20:03
you'll be surprised how long cardboard
20:05
actually lasts between a cat's claws
20:07
playing with it because they know that
20:10
it's for them to right and or you can go
20:13
and pick up corrugated cardboard that
20:15
has ridges on it and you where is that
20:17
from uh Hardware you can go to like a um
20:21
Home Depot Lowe's any anything like that
20:24
oh so it's another kind of cardboard
20:25
it's another kind of cardboard it has
20:27
ridges in it and um they can scratch it
20:30
so it I can't explain it oh so it's got
20:33
kind of like two feelings yeah yep it's
20:36
cool to put on the bottom of a cat toy
20:39
thing you know so they can have a thing
20:40
to scratch while they're yeah I like
20:43
that I've not heard that that's cool all
20:45
right and then the last one and again I
20:46
got this from uh uh some water bottles
20:49
that I had a water bottle bird feeder
20:51
all you need is some twine you basically
20:53
cut out the front half of the bottle you
20:56
fill it with bird seed you hang it up
20:58
boom only thing there is if you do have
21:01
a squirrel problem may not be the best
21:03
because it is wide open and squirrels
21:05
are currently like bird seed
21:10
so when you hang this bird feeder thing
21:13
normally it's just on a little hook
21:14
right and you hook yes get one that go
21:17
to the hardware store and get something
21:18
that swivels there that literally has a
21:20
swivel on it and put it on that so when
21:23
I've actually seen this so when the
21:24
squirrel jumps on it they literally go
21:26
flying off because
21:28
because the thing rotates it's I should
21:31
have like found that video because it
21:33
was really funny literally hilarious
21:35
this squirrel kept flying off well there
21:37
you go so if you want to make the water
21:39
bottle go find that thing stick it on
21:41
top and you will be scroll free
21:44
um so okay so other thing you know that
21:46
we thought anything else that you
21:47
thought of that you you've made or that
21:48
we could make I know we've talked about
21:50
it before I just you know these are the
21:52
ones that came to mind because you know
21:53
we have pets that's what we do
21:56
um but really anything that you can
21:58
clean out anything that you can get rid
21:59
of the Dust on right theoretically can
22:02
be used I guess I mean I guess keep in
22:05
mind the strength you know obviously
22:07
stuff like paper is not strong you're
22:09
not going to want to do that but
22:11
cardboard detergent bottles those big
22:14
huge detergent bottles oh yeah there's
22:18
there's a really sturdy
22:20
um and you can cut that would make a
22:21
really cool like bird feeder we could
22:23
put like actually when you said that I
22:25
thought about people who use it as uh
22:27
holders like they'll miscellaneous
22:29
change although put these things in
22:31
there and it's a way to store it without
22:33
having right you know clear there we go
22:36
laundry detergent bottles if you have
22:39
them there you go actually it's a fun
22:41
fact on that because I used the Tide
22:42
Pods now the ones that don't come in the
22:44
bottle but the plastic bag and it
22:46
actually is
22:47
um Tide's way of reducing their plastic
22:50
usage so yay for that good for you tight
22:54
oh everything yay for them yay for them
22:58
um all right so I think that was the
22:59
how-to right is that all right yeah okay
23:02
so now the fun part I'm gonna pass it to
23:04
you uh did you want me to talk about the
23:06
nursery really quick or
23:08
um you can go ahead I'm just putting
23:09
little swag guy up there
23:12
um so just before we go into the swag
23:14
that we're selling uh we decided to pick
23:16
nature conservancy one of the biggest uh
23:18
one of the few of the biggest all-time
23:21
um companies out there of course you
23:23
know them they've worked with national
23:24
parks they've worked with national
23:26
monuments they help basically find
23:29
places that don't get the money that
23:31
usually need to clean up the parks to
23:34
protect the wildlife so all a portion of
23:37
any swag sold will be going to them but
23:40
I think we want to point out that
23:42
there's yeah you can make a direct
23:43
donation guys it's an Earth Day matching
23:45
fund so if you take your camera out and
23:47
scan this OR take a look in the the
23:49
comments there should be a link popping
23:51
in there a little bit
23:52
um you can make a direct uh nation and
23:55
they will match it in this earth month
23:58
which is way cool so you know double I
24:01
love that I love that I just think it's
24:03
awesome but wait there's more you
24:06
mentioned swag
24:08
um so uh rob you put oh somebody just
24:10
scanned the QR code I love that
24:12
um you just you you created some really
24:15
cool things to go in your your store
24:16
your swag store and the first thing that
24:18
you did was this really cool invest in
24:21
our planet candle
24:23
and for those of you don't remember
24:25
really quick that's the slogan for this
24:27
year's is the best in our planet so all
24:28
the stuff you see will have that slogan
24:30
right just to remind you that so sorry I
24:32
didn't mean to cut you off it's all good
24:34
and one of the things that's really cool
24:36
about this is again along with the
24:38
upcycling and recycling things that we
24:40
do once you burn this candle down to the
24:42
bottom don't throw the glass away you
24:44
can use it for other things you can use
24:46
it for flowers like little Rose things
24:48
or you can make a new cam a candle out
24:51
of it you know melt the extra wax and as
24:53
you said you did that once and never do
24:55
it again but add some crayons and put
24:57
some colors so reuse this right and it's
25:00
so pretty I love I love the the design
25:02
that we have on the front invest in our
25:05
planet the second thing that we have
25:08
yes let me get out of this is the water
25:11
bottle now I know you have a ton of
25:13
these I have a ton of these they last
25:15
forever guys they last forever I have
25:18
one for my own my older store and I
25:20
think I got it like I don't know three
25:22
four years ago
25:24
um it runs in the dishwasher no no
25:26
smearing no stains no nothing
25:29
um I think actually Krista's using it
25:30
right now
25:31
um it it stays very clean um obviously
25:34
the only thing they say is you know
25:35
obviously don't let water sit in there
25:37
too long right but other than that these
25:39
things last you forever as far as I know
25:42
and they keep things hot and they keep
25:44
things cold that's what you tell me
25:46
there they yeah they're I mean it's a
25:48
thermos and so why not have something
25:49
that does double duty right and again it
25:52
has this really cool design so if you're
25:54
interested in checking that out go ahead
25:55
and scan the code or click on the link
25:57
that happens to be in the comments and
26:00
finally we have one more and I'm
26:03
laughing at this you and I left over
26:04
this so I'm gonna get rid of this for in
26:06
just a second
26:07
um
26:08
so this is the invest in our planet tote
26:11
bag and we left because there's
26:13
Halloween designs around it yes I
26:16
believe this is why they decided to
26:17
decorate there right but but but you get
26:20
the point this can be used for many
26:22
different things you can take this and
26:24
take it to the market and put your
26:26
groceries in it or take it to the beach
26:28
or the swimming pool and put your towel
26:30
and put your snacks in there or use it
26:33
on Halloween because why not and I do
26:37
know that there's a couple of other
26:38
colors that they can choose if you don't
26:39
want a black there's white there's blue
26:41
there's all different colors that you
26:42
can actually pick right that's your
26:44
choice we kind of like it on the black
26:47
um but again that's just a matter of of
26:49
choice I'm going to take that out over
26:51
there I'm going to close this down so
26:54
those are some of our favorite things
26:55
and again we want to remind you that
26:57
when you go and if you if you go
27:00
straight over to Nature Conservancy as
27:02
we already said they're going to double
27:04
if you decide to buy some swag we'd love
27:07
to have some pictures of you holding the
27:09
swag or wearing the swag or lighting the
27:12
candle swag and a portion of those
27:15
proceeds to come in for that as well for
27:17
the entire rest of the month of April
27:19
we're going to do a percentage that's
27:21
going to be sent over to The Nature
27:22
Conservancy as well because this is a a
27:24
topic near and dear to our hearts is
27:28
getting that stuff Rob
27:31
no you know I mean we'll start or we'll
27:33
end how we started every day is Earth
27:35
Day so protect your planet that you live
27:38
on yep and be kind to Mother Earth
27:43
there you go yes we'll see you next time
27:46
guys have a great one
