talking Marvel Mania and we're going

over

you guessed it these guys here well one

of them I'll explain let's go

um

sorry I'm trying to type and do this at

the same time

um well I'll talk what you're looking

for it so today

a lot of these shows that we do Rob

introduces me to some interesting things

like I never would have known they were

interesting if he had never actually

introduced me to it so when he said

we're going to do Marvel Mania and we're

going to do Fantastic Mr Fantastic I

thought he was talking about um the guy

on Shark Tank because it's Mr Wonderful

right

um and it clearly is not so Rob did you

find what you were looking for I think

this will work so we are alrighty let's

do it then all right of course so yeah

Marvel Mania uh we're gonna kind of do

these possibly semi regularly but we're

going to cover different characters of

the Marvel Universe and we would never

happen never be um out of them because

there are billions of them however today

as I mentioned we're going to go

Fantastic Four known as the first family

of Marvel Universe kind of funny there

Mr Fantastic is the lead so um for those

of you who might have uh watched Dr

Strange Multiverse Advantage recently we

got to see John Krasinski as Mr

Fantastic we're going to talk about him

in that a little bit later because

people are super obsessed but Mr

Fantastic also known as Reed Richards is

a fictional character from the Marvel

Comics specifically from the Fantastic

Four one of the original Comics that was

written

from the mind of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Jack Kirby by the way for those who

don't know he's the one that does all

the amazing uh drawings and stuff we're

going to go over some of this later so

um he grew up in actually a real City

Central City California I think it's a

real City and he was the son of uh two

parents his mom passes away as most

parents in the comics do his dad

basically had to raise this super smart

kid because he was like

think about what's his name smart guy

you know he was going to college or

younger Sheldon before anybody else was

right and because of that he

automatically went into doing all of

this stuff and uh because of his super

intelligence his father put him into

basically the harvards and the

princetons of the Marvel World

um

he along with his wife uh Sue storm The

Invisible Woman uh his brother-in-law uh

Johnny Storm AKA of the Human Torch and

his best buddy Ben Grimms otherwise

known as the thing the four of them make

up this whole group

um so a little bit of his background

after he grew up

um he let's say so it is college Years

he actually went to the California

Institute of Technology probably not a

real school but it sounds like it is and

then he actually attended Harvard

University and the ma and MIT as well so

hey even the moral Universe has smart

people in it too

um while there he studied things like

engineering mathematics and physics and

for those of you who know the different

movies and stories he is responsible for

opening different portals for allowing

time travel to happen and basically

doing all of that fun stuff

um as he grew up and got older he became

basically Mr Fantastic

um

kind of just going through some of this

stuff his main power because they were

all hit with Cosmic radiation if you

guys remember that story he becomes

super stretchy otherwise known as

plasticity say that five times fast

basically he can turn into a Stretch

Armstrong doll and just

do that weird creepy thing with the long

arms and Long Legs

um it works very well because he's very

super stretchy and bouncy so things just

kind of go right off of him he can wrap

you up literally in his body

um and because he's able to do all that

his muscles are a little bit stronger

than usual or so they say

um other things are his super

intelligence his leadership abilities

and his ability as a master scientist

um so that's the intro to him there

um

um I know we had well actually I might

as well show this guy really quick so

this is one of the few that I found on

um Amazon very comfortable nice little

graphic tee it has the uh four logo for

a Fantastic Four

um and I like it because it's smooth

it's comfortable as I always say with me

I got my neck thing I don't like these

shirts but for a day and when I'm not

sleeping in it I definitely enjoy the

feeling of this and I'm great for

working out great for going off there we

go there it is

um so I don't know yeah you you like

this you kind of looks cool I I got the

one with the blue four you can get the

one with the black four of course I like

different colors it's nice and I know we

have another one that's a tank top so

while you're talking about it's kind of

funny because you know I when I think of

tank top I think of like a sports Jersey

and I'm like oh number four it must be

somebody's number it probably is

somebody's number who knows but I picked

this guy or I I found it online

um because people like it I guess I the

guy that comes to mind You're gonna

laugh is my personal trainer from high

school because I remember he used to

wear tank tops all right Sean Sean thank

you so I guess this is a popular thing I

I was tempted to try this one but I just

felt like you know my I'd be like where

do my arms go

um but I don't know I mean do you I mean

as a like a woman you like tank tops is

it kind of a as a woman I like tank

talks and like for instance I might wear

some if I was so inclined to be a

Fantastic Four or whatever uh follower I

would definitely do the tank top I would

exercise in it you know I'd wear it over

my leggings in a sports bra or something

and I would exercise because you want to

stay cool because especially where we

are so I definitely would do something

like this if I would do something like

this

very well put I like it I will take it

um and then I think we have uh yeah I'm

gonna go grab it right now hold on okay

cool

um yeah actually yeah I thought I had

more info on him but um yeah no these

shirts are really cool guys and they're

all pretty expensive you saw 20 bucks 25

bucks a piece

um so of course we have the thing it's

clobber in time everybody knows that's

his his slogan that's what he says

before he beats somebody up because

that's what we want to teach kids right

we're gonna go clobber people uh no I

mean and it's funny because there's the

joke of you know Hulk versus him who's

stronger the difference being he

actually can speak English while he's in

that form because that is his form he

got the short end of the stick here he

literally is made of stone now whereas

the Hulk when he becomes the Hulk he

kind of loses his his smarts and just

basically is a giant muscle and you know

so there's there's times where they've

met in the Marvel Universe and they've

kind of you know done that and then the

last one is actually my favorite because

it brings me the um it's got all the

characters on it like we do here

but from the 60s so any of you who want

to feel old this shirt you'll appreciate

it's funny because somebody on YouTube

uploaded an episode and I watched it the

other day and I was like wow this is

what cartoons were like in the 60s holy

crap

um but no but this is actually what they

look like this is the original drawings

of uh Mr Fantastic is the guy with the

white in his hair we have the Human

Torch we have Invisible Woman actually

invisible girl at one point but they

realized that was inappropriate because

it sounded like she was younger than the

rest of them so they changed her to a

woman to make her the same age you know

and then of course the thing so this

one's really cool if you like old school

Nostalgia and this would have been great

for our Nickelodeon what we did um

because this really is Nostalgia for

many people right right

so that's a little bit of bio for him

now now this next one is going to be

really fun because mostly everybody has

watched these films and these shows

um so

Marvel has a way like Disney does to put

their name on everything and as I just

mentioned a second ago they started with

cartoons so this one actually came to us

in the 90s and this is actually kind of

what I call anime style this actually

was an updated version this was kind of

more of a what you would expect for

something from Japan but as I mentioned

before we had the one in the 60s so the

first time we got to see Mr Fantastic

was in the cartoon now for me this is

the way you do it I never you know I I

read Comics I read books but for me when

I was first introduced to character it

was usually in a cartoon you'll probably

agree because I was watching Nickelodeon

I was watching Disney and where do you

usually see your favorite characters in

a cartoon so this was the time and again

keep in mind the 60s and 90s two

different decades but this was when they

were trying to kind of like get the

characters in the main extreme

um you obviously had a lot of weird you

know the jokes were different you're

like I don't want to know though why

that's funny the animation was very

weird you're like why why is this a

thing but for those who watch it I'm

sure many of you watching now or watched

on replay and well no this is how you

saw maybe your parents watch these as

kids maybe you rocks them when you were

a kid but kind of an older version so

for me I think the best way to get into

this character along with the rest of

his crew is check out one of these uh

DVDs now this one you can get super

cheap on a 12 but this is how you know

we're in this time DVDs are now 12 bucks

right and Prime video is now 20. that's

a big change from what used to this

um but you can get the other ones on

here as well the older ones too but I

think the best way to get into the

mindset of it is do the cartoon now

I don't know what to say about these

ones you're gonna you you'll recognize

some of the actors in this one but 2005

and 2007 brought us the non-mcu

Fantastic Four and yes people that is

Captain America in the background Chris

Evans people go wait a minute he was in

a Marvel movie before Marvel well let me

give you a quick little brief thing here

this was Fox this was not Marvel this

was not Disney this was fox trying to

take advantage of a character they had

uh in gefard I think the thing was

played by uh Michael Chiklis from uh The

Shield I think it was called

um and of course Jessica Alba I mean

Jessica Alba we all know Jessica Alba

um so this was the first time we all got

to introduce the live version of it and

of course you picked a British guy

playing an American character again I

have no problem doing that I just always

find it's funny when it's somebody not

from America playing an American

character what are you gonna do well as

you know that's a challenge of across

the board for that's actually a huge

conversation going on in the movies

right now right is the characters the

wrong what people feel the wrong colored

characters playing you know whatever and

so this is another one of those right

yeah and and luckily it was fine because

it didn't really do too much of the

character but when you I thought he was

American until I watched an interview

and I was like wait this dude's from

Britain like what the hell like I was

just I was shocked because I was like

that's not the same guy so this is what

we all got used to in o5 and I think I

don't know we might have actually done

one of the premieres on this one I think

uh Temple ones I feel like we saw this

in theaters

um but this was the first time we get to

some Mr Fantastic in the movies

um I would ask you if you remember I

know you probably didn't watch so I'm

not going to ask you if you remember any

of that

um but this was the this was this was

Fox and again I say it as if it's a bad

thing I have no problem with Fox Studios

but when you're trying to put together a

character from a comic book that another

company makes and you don't know how

you're doing it right you might want to

not try to do that only because it makes

you kind of look bad and then people go

back and go you remember that time in

2005 right right right it doesn't look

well on your resume right now if that

wasn't bad enough we have fan four Stick

as people call it because they put the

four right in the middle of the word

fantastic no it is fantastic for guys

now we have people like miles tenner who

you guys might know from Whiplash about

the drummer we have uh Michael B Jordan

from Black Panther who played the Human

Torch and then we had uh Maura

I can't pronounce your last name but I

think she was on The L Word on HBO

um so we had a lot of newcomers but they

weren't as new as most people thought

because they had been in a few things

you know from there this again I guess

folks are trying to redeem themselves

not very well and said hey we're going

to do this one more time before we lose

the rights and we're going to try to

redeem ourselves well we got fan four

Stick now the only plus to this movie

was you notice how they all look like

they're in their teens this actually is

how the characters are introduced in the

comic books they warned adults

originally so every time you see them in

adult form people go no no no no Mr

Fantastic he's supposed to be like 25

he's not supposed to be 40. you know so

the one thing they did do right here was

give you the characters like Mr

Fantastic in the correct age and what's

cool and I talked about earlier how you

went to MIT you actually see him as a 10

year old kid in in elementary school you

see him in high school and you see him

in college and you get to see him

actually do his science so while many

people were

I actually thought this was a clever uh

version of it you know even if it was

Fox but no but as you can tell I mean

it's it's 11 bucks on Blu-ray it's nine

bucks on DVD guys I mean come on you

can't get a better deal than that right

right I'm not there now the one people

love and this is the next one we're

gonna have

and what's funny about this is that I

don't know if you know this Marvel likes

to do their cut scenes and their after

scene so a lot of people will watch an

entire movie not for the movie but just

for the end scene yeah that's what

actually happened here so while many

people were were loving this we're

actually going to talk about Doctor

Strange on another episode of this so

we're going to come back to this movie

later but people watch this movie

because in the cut scene we got to see

what was known as the Illuminati and the

Illuminati and Marvel were five of the

brightest Minds in uh the Marvel

universe so we have Professor X played

by Sir Patrick Stewart love that guy we

had Captain Britain played by

um oh God what was her name she was in

Captain America she played uh Captain

America's love interest

um there we had black Bolts from the

Inhumans which was a Netflix show that

apparently didn't do well and we got to

see John Krasinski as Mr Fantastic now

why do I keep saying his name well the

big deal was up until then he apparently

got this script and got the knowledge

that him and his wife are going to be

the main two characters which again if

you guys know him and her well they do a

lot of movies together where they play a

couple because they are a couple so why

not but the many people saw him come on

stage they were like oh my God it's him

uh now I'm not gonna give away what

happened because it's still a newer

movie so I don't want to give him any

plot um but

I feel like this is the first time and

again he is an older character so he's

not the original Mr Fantastic but I feel

like he fit the character and the

costume better than I had seen before uh

so

that that's the main difference here

um as you can tell this one's a little

more expensive but again this movie just

came out three months ago so again 20

bucks on DVD 25 bucks if you do have you

know whatever the streaming is but

really this is pretty cheap for a new

movie guys most of the time when a new

movie comes out it's like 50 bucks so

the fact that it's 20 bucks on DVD

you know

um okay now the last one that were for

that for the movies and this one is very

limited knowledge because it's not 2024

yet but because of that whole cut scene

there we're gonna get to see the

Fantastic for family come to life in

well basically a year because it's

almost the end of 2022 right right and

we're all very excited there so

um

I could turn this into one of those

things where people will go oh this is

the rumors and this is the whatever

um there you go Krista just said 20

bucks is good for a new movie yeah

especially when you pay 20 bucks a

ticket if you're going to them maybe

it's not even for snacks and foreign

so really there's a whole lot of rumors

going on who the bad guy's gonna be who

we're going to get but I think the most

the biggest deal is John kernson's Skin

Emily Blunt playing those two we don't

have any news on the other characters

yet but if anybody was lucky enough to

go to d23 this year which is that big uh

convention that Disney has they

apparently had some secret clips and

they had some whatever of course I'm not

that cool I don't have those secret

Clips but I think it's going to be

interesting to see what happens and

again we've talked about this off screen

I limit what I focus on watching and do

because there's so many things coming

out at once right I like and we're gonna

go to these in a minute I like when you

can go back in time and kind of just

slowly pick through what you enjoy

watching reading what have you

um very few times though does a movie

actually get an issued and this is

actually one of the few times that

actually I'm like hey if I'm cool with

going to the movies at this point I

might actually go see this in the

theaters because they make such a big

hype they have such a big thing that

this one might be worth my time and my

anxiety to actually go to the theater

and watch it so that says something to

you yeah coming from this brain right

here

um so yeah so we actually showed those

clips there

um all right so yeah uh really quick

we're gonna go over some of the last

things here so this guy's cool this is a

hardcover Premiere Edition so I don't

know I think you can get a hardcover or

paperback so both uh hardcover is only

17. paperback is 13. so why don't you

hold that up yeah let's hold it up to

the screen so we can see so this is

really cool so this is a Premiere

Edition here I actually you know a lot

of people are like they have so many

books you don't like a hardcover this is

actually a nice hardcover it's pretty

thin it's not that big and look at the

uh artwork in here look at the you know

the stuff you got

this is I was trying to find the date on

here

um

of when this was written

it might be on the on the uh first page

inside the first page yeah inside the

first page let's see if we can find this

so this was

okay so this is 2012. so this was

actually well now it's like 10 years old

but look how you know look at the the

imagery here so this one uh follows one

of their main story lines you actually

get to meet their kids so one of the

kids is right here not the green guy the

kid who looks like a human being that's

their kid

um Jonathan Jonathan Hickman for those

who follow him they do this this really

this literally goes into so many parts

like this is part four so this is

literally like a four or five part comic

book in this one thing

to buy this yeah and the illustrations

are gorgeous absolutely gorgeous if

you're just tuning in guys and we're

talking all about Mr Fantastic uh we're

it's all about Marvel Mania and if you

are a fan of Mr Fantastic let us know in

the comments and if you are a fan of

other characters of the Fantastic Four

let us know because as Rob has already

said we're gonna do several of these and

if you have somebody you like we'll

we'll make sure we cover it yes not the

green guy

pretty sure that their children are

human because they're humans so you know

now the next one here I love this is

actually part of a series so this is

called a secret Invasion so this was a

whole series and this is actually coming

soon to Disney as well where all of our

characters were actually taken over by

people known as the Scrolls and they

were actually aliens posing as all of

the Marvel characters so in this

particular issue here we actually have

uh the visible women's shoe store it's

not actually her she was actually taken

over by a skrull which is why she's

killing her brother and her friend

um on the pages here

so this one covers basically all of them

having to go find her and basically

bring her back as herself and not as

this evil alien entity again we have

Agora sakasa and kitson who were in

charge of writing and

um illustrations here these guys also

did some of the Amazing Spider-Man

comics as well but I was showing them

earlier not only do you get that guys

but for free

a 60s like an old old school who are you

calling old Rob this is what we used to

read

okay fine maybe not that old but you get

like a comic strip style Fantastic Four

and you see the difference between how

you know you have this right this is the

new

and then you have this so this is really

neat and actually I think you get a few

of these because there's a few comics in

the back so Marvel does this once in a

while now I bought this one way back

when I'm you know the books change a lot

of times when you buy the new ones it's

just the story but once in a while if

you're lucky enough if you go to the

bookstore you go online

um you can find that they're kind of

like additions within additions and you

get some freebies with the actual one

you're doing so if you can find that

it's pretty cool uh you can tell I have

all my Comics up there well sure we'll

go through all of those at some point

right right

um but yeah so the future of Mr

Fantastic here you know like I was

saying if you were going to get the

movie in 2024 we're gonna get him in

there what are we gonna see well I was

actually thinking about this last night

what I was going to say there's a lot

that goes on in this universe and

similar to stuff like Star Wars similar

to like my Pokemon in the back you don't

really know where people are going x

with this stuff

um I think personally that John

Krasinski is going to be a very good

character I know him mainly from Comedy

we'll see what he's like in a more drama

but you know we'll see what happens it

could be great it could be horrible we

don't know

um but all overall I hope you guys enjoy

just talking about them I know and it's

funny because I'm realizing we're

talking about him but you can't really

talk about him without his people so

this might have been a Fantastic Four

show but it was about him you know

we'll cover like some of the other guys

and uh Miss Doctor Strange right is one

of them you said Doctor Strange we're

gonna go over and again same thing with

him you know you know I've been into

Cumberbatch has been playing him for a

while great version of him I love him

like I loved him that's how I got

introduced to Marvel was that particular

movie when he first that what was it

called just Doctor Strange Doctor

Strange was his first one yeah yeah when

he was in the accident and how he became

who he became and and how he went and

learned how to shift was it shift change

what do they call it chip

um

I'm seeing it in my head

and Tilda Swinton who was amazing she's

she's the female I mean just amazing I

actually enjoyed it mentally and I'm not

a moviegoer so I really really liked it

I'm looking forward to Doctor Strange I

want to see that one

well there you go

um yeah I mean that so that's uh I mean

like I said super comfy t-shirt grab one

uh while you can

um

hope you guys enjoyed I I know I try to

give you the leeway in the talk but I'm

like I don't know what to ask you I

don't know no it's okay I'm I learn I

learn every time we do this um some

things I learned that I don't ever want

to know anything more and some things I

learned that I want to learn more and

like in this particular case I do want

to I can't wait to see what we do for

Doctor Strange so guys we're thrilled

that you were here with us we know you

have a choice as to where you spend your
