0:00
time to come clean the lies we tell
0:03
ourselves and others I discuss this and
0:06
more with my very special guest
0:07
chameleon preneur Linda West on today's
0:10
episode of the little white lie
0:15
hello everyone Karin glass are here I'm
0:18
your livestream host and we have a great
0:20
show for you today welcome to the little
0:23
white lie this is a lifestyle show for
0:26
super boomers and beyond that will
0:28
enhance your lifestyle health
0:30
empowerment and more we have an amazing
0:34
show today guys I am really excited
0:36
about the guests that I'm gonna be
0:38
bringing on in just a moment her name is
0:40
Linda West and she is a chameleon
0:43
preneur as I said I love that word
0:45
chameleon preneur I had to practice at
0:47
several times to make sure I said it
0:48
properly she is the creator of living
0:52
live TV and after working in the
0:55
corporate arena for over 36 years at the
0:59
Linda jumped into the world of
1:01
entrepreneur ISM and as she says you are
1:04
never too old to start and that was back
1:07
in 2014 and she has never looked back
1:10
and she joins us today to tackle the
1:12
topic the lies we tell ourselves so
1:15
without further ado hello miss Linda how
1:18
I'm doing great thank you so much Karen
1:21
for having me here I'm so excited to
1:23
talk about this topic I can't wait to
1:25
see what you have in store well I I
1:27
promise not to do anything too shocking
1:29
but we're gonna start right off the bat
1:31
by asking you Linda what is your little
1:34
white lie which one should I tell which
1:38
one should I tell that you know it's
1:40
interesting because I was thinking about
1:41
like little white lie and maybe some
1:43
lies actually they start off as a little
1:45
white lie and then they turn into this
1:46
big lie and that's the one I want to
1:48
share today Ashley is a lie that I had
1:50
been telling not only myself but also my
1:52
husband and it was something that came
1:55
out about money and I was scared to tell
1:57
him about the fact that I was losing
2:00
money in my business because I had this
2:04
fear and I'll tell you what that fear is
2:05
played or when carrier and ask me the
2:07
question I I really love this I mean
2:10
you're being so vulnerable about this
2:11
and I am sure that there are
2:13
a lot of people that are watching the
2:14
show whether they're live or on replay
2:16
that have told that very same lie and
2:18
that they're embarrassed by it or they
2:20
hide it or for whatever reason they
2:23
think they should be doing better and
2:25
they're embarrassed to talk about it so
2:27
we're going to talk about that as well
2:29
and if you have a little white life
2:31
you're watching LIBOR on replay make
2:33
sure you put your little white line
2:34
right down there in the comments and we
2:35
will pop it right up on the screen all
2:40
righty let's see it so we're gonna jump
2:42
in let's jump right into to the lies
2:44
that we tell ourselves so why do you
2:47
think people lie why do you think we lie
2:48
to ourselves well I can't really answer
2:53
for other people Cora myself and one
2:55
thing that I have been doing uh since I
2:57
love my corporate you know in the
2:59
corporate world or this year is I leaped
3:02
entrepreneurship I started on a journey
3:05
of self-discovery I have never taken the
3:07
first 51 years of my life to see who's
3:10
Linda what am I doing here what's my
3:12
purpose and so really as I look back
3:14
through a lot of lies I had been telling
3:16
myself for decades because I had been
3:18
learning my life for others I was a
3:21
people pleaser I spent all my time
3:23
making sure that everybody else was
3:24
happy and I took time from Linda and so
3:28
once I started a journey into
3:30
self-discovery I discovered that there
3:32
are a lot of lies I have been telling
3:33
myself but maybe it's but I love this
3:36
color or I love this job or I love this
3:39
person or I don't like this I you know
3:41
so a lot of lot of little lies that
3:43
rolled into and it ends up being like
3:46
big lies sometimes so what's the danger
3:48
in doing this I mean there there are
3:51
there's a danger in constantly telling
3:52
ourselves lies what's the danger in
3:54
doing this you know I feel that the
3:59
danger in doing that is that it comes
4:01
our reality so it starts off as a little
4:05
lie and we know that's a lie well any
4:08
time you tell any kind of why you know
4:10
it's by and then it comes your reality
4:12
because you start telling the same story
4:15
that lie over and over and over again so
4:18
I'll show what happened in my marriage
4:20
is I got to the point or it was like
4:23
employee and I was I had to tell him
4:26
got to the point after two years of me
4:28
not telling him the truth of what was
4:30
going on that when it came down to I was
4:32
like oh my god it's not going well at
4:34
all I can't hide it anymore so I may
4:38
tell you the story of what I did yes I
4:40
want to know okay inquiry Mele so I had
4:44
a I had kind of like that come-to-jesus
4:48
moment of myself and I said you know
4:50
what I have wrenched the light you know
4:53
got to me it became so real for me that
4:56
I almost did that so then I realized
4:57
that wait a minute what are you doing
4:59
here this is ridiculous at least tell
5:01
him so I just had a moment I said you
5:04
know I need to talk to you and we sat
5:06
down and I said before we got started I
5:09
said let's pray because I wanted to make
5:11
sure that the words the words that came
5:14
on my mouth came out in a way that he
5:15
would be understanding and he was here
5:17
then with an understanding and
5:19
compassion not with anger and seat and
5:22
so so he goes okay so we prayed and then
5:26
first course he asked me he cheating on
5:29
and I said no heck no I'm not cheating
5:32
on you that was his first thought and I
5:36
was like I can handle anything else hold
5:39
him I said I've been lying to you for a
5:42
couple years and I you know the the
5:45
money thing I've been spending money I'm
5:47
not making much money and this is the
5:49
reality this is the truth and he was
5:51
like okay let's work on it let's make
5:55
this let's make this right and what I
5:57
realized in that very moment Karen is
6:00
that if we just would tell the truth
6:01
from the beginning it wouldn't wave off
6:04
into this web of lies oh my gosh and I
6:08
was scared I was scared I wanted to
6:10
divorce him instead of telling him
6:11
because of my fear Wow Wow
6:14
so how many of you have had that same
6:17
exact experience where you made yourself
6:19
actually sick to your stomach and sick
6:21
in body I have I have I I mean I think
6:26
we all have and and I think that it's it
6:28
is nothing to be ashamed of actually I
6:30
think it is it is refreshing and almost
6:32
cathartic to admit it and to come on out
6:35
and say I'm lying but now let's fix it
6:39
and that's what your husband did so that
6:40
probably was very validating to you it
6:43
was and in addition so it ended up
6:46
helping me to say some other things that
6:48
have been kind of bottled up for years
6:50
and you know one of those was that I
6:54
didn't I didn't feel as if he looking in
6:56
on things now this was actually my own
6:58
fault this wasn't him
6:59
this was something that I felt and so I
7:01
said kay so from this point forward if I
7:04
don't like something I'm gonna tell you
7:05
if I do like something I'm gonna tell
7:08
you and you just have to accept it that
7:10
this is how I feel whether it's good for
7:13
you or bad for you if I don't want to go
7:15
somewhere I'm gonna tell you I don't
7:17
want to go instead of going and being
7:20
there like being so bitter like I wish I
7:22
wasn't here which is what I used to do
7:24
and so he said okay so we had some
7:27
things like have come to a head you know
7:29
but but I say hey you told me that I can
7:32
and you'd not you told me but I told you
7:34
that I need to be able to just voice my
7:37
thought and that's it we don't have I
7:39
love that yeah you know what does the
7:41
things that you lazed it yeah and one of
7:44
the things that I've heard you say on on
7:46
multiple occasions if you are not living
7:48
live you are not living life what does
7:51
that mean for me you know I started this
7:54
that kind of started with doing my
7:56
videos Hill which was about two years
7:58
ago two and a half years ago I started
7:59
doing live videos and I was like you
8:02
know what do you my videos what it's
8:03
done for me is it's really opened up my
8:06
life it's really helped me become more
8:08
confident and because of my confidence
8:11
level and that what you know just
8:13
something so simple as doing like videos
8:15
what it's done for me is helped me to
8:17
live a more rich life it's helped me to
8:20
live my life outwardly it's helped me to
8:22
be more vulnerable so this moment of
8:25
like telling my little lie you know
8:27
that's a vulnerable moment don't ya
8:29
vulnerable moment however I don't see it
8:32
that way because I'm just living my life
8:33
and I just being me I'm being honest and
8:35
open with everything in my life and
8:37
that's what like doing live videos it's
8:39
kind of like what start is that's always
8:41
like if you're not living live you're
8:43
not living life and I totally resonate
8:45
with that as you know I mean I look I
8:48
went I went white I went gray
8:50
on camera live you know and and talk
8:52
about if that's not being vulnerable I
8:55
don't I don't know what is but I
8:56
actually didn't really consider it
8:57
vulnerability except for that very first
9:00
time that I did it was like okay guys
9:01
this is what I look like but after that
9:03
it actually instilled in me some
9:05
confidence that I didn't even know I had
9:08
it it literally set me on fire how about
9:11
you yeah I totally 100% agree with that
9:14
even sometimes you like people take
9:16
selfies and they little get them does
9:18
this one look good does that one you
9:19
know what I take a selfie I post it I
9:21
don't even look at it I figure if if I
9:23
got like this kind of look on you know
9:25
what that's what I looked like in that
9:27
very moment so why why are we so
9:29
judgmental of ourselves well I believe
9:32
is because in society people judge us at
9:36
starting at a young age and then we hold
9:38
on to that that judgment and we allow
9:40
judgment to affect us and that's one
9:43
thing I have learned is that if I can
9:46
just like accept the criticism accept
9:48
the judgment or whatever and then say
9:49
you know what that's not gonna affect me
9:51
then it hasn't touched me and it's such
9:53
a differing different feeling and it's
9:56
very empowering and like I'm powerful
9:58
because you can say whatever you want
10:00
about me right doesn't affect me and it
10:03
just helps to build the confidence level
10:05
so I know that you've had over 49 jobs
10:08
oh my god oh my god so let's talk about
10:13
what would why would that's a lot of
10:16
jobs I don't even know what yeah I think
10:17
that's a lot of jobs tell us about that
10:18
and what's your wife
10:19
yeah well it's funny because I actually
10:21
counted them because I was being
10:23
interviewed on a show and it was about
10:25
jobs and stuff and I was like you know I
10:26
should just tell how many jobs I had so
10:28
I counted them and I was like dang it I
10:31
should get one more so I can have 50
10:33
yeah so you know I started off when I
10:37
started working my very first job was a
10:40
very short job it was like a summer job
10:42
you know 16 years old and stuff and then
10:45
as I got into the workforce
10:47
I found that I didn't feel appreciated
10:50
not almost air almost every job I've
10:54
I felt underappreciated I felt like my
10:56
what I had to share didn't matter it
11:00
didn't count I was able to help people
11:03
help companies save money but they
11:05
didn't listen to me so I would leave I
11:08
would just go to another job go to
11:10
another job and then about 20 24 years
11:14
ago I made my way into the legal field
11:16
where I became a legal secretary and I
11:19
finally felt like oh good this is great
11:21
I have this job I really like it it's a
11:22
lot of fun that people are amazing and
11:24
then about a year and a half later I
11:26
started you know saying hey how about if
11:28
we try this hey how about we try that
11:31
and they always shot me down I'm going
11:33
to another job and I just kept on
11:35
searching for more like somebody who
11:37
would suddenly would just like listen to
11:39
me I just didn't pay attention to you
11:41
right yeah and I validate that I have
11:44
good ideas you know and so really that's
11:47
what it really was stemming from was the
11:49
fact that I felt underappreciated and so
11:51
I would leap to another job and one job
11:54
only one job ever I was on for six years
11:58
and that was because my my boss realized
12:00
that I needed to be constantly
12:02
stimulated and that I need to feel
12:05
so she constantly gave me a new jobs and
12:07
she appreciated me all the time when she
12:10
left after six years I got bored and I
12:12
left mmm yeah okay so and that led to
12:17
your book right that led to the year of
12:20
fears so let's talk a little bit about
12:23
that because I'm actually fascinated by
12:25
this what is the book about and I know I
12:28
I do know what it's about but I'd like
12:30
you to share it with our audience what
12:32
does that mean a year of fears what did
12:33
you actually do well it was in 2000 and
12:37
so first November of 2014 I made the
12:41
leap from my corporate job and I said
12:42
I'm gonna become an entrepreneur but I
12:44
didn't even know what the word meant you
12:46
know so first I was like on this journey
12:48
to I don't know what and what I realized
12:50
in that moment were though is it wasn't
12:52
so much that what I'm going to do but I
12:55
realized that just blow away I'm not
12:57
going to do any more I'm not going to
13:00
work for preciate me I'm no longer going
13:02
to put up with that so I'm gonna start
13:03
this entrepreneurial journey and
13:05
discover what I'm supposed to do I knew
13:08
that I was here to help people at that
13:10
point but I didn't know how so I made my
13:13
elite you know I left the corporate
13:14
world and then it was January 1st at
13:17
2015 I woke up that morning and I said I
13:20
got to do something different
13:22
I don't do New Year's resolutions
13:23
because I have never been able to keep
13:25
them so I decided that this year I'm
13:29
gonna face a fear every day and I'm
13:31
gonna see what it does and see if it
13:33
helps me change my life and so I did so
13:36
every morning I woke up in 2015 and I
13:39
asked myself what scares me with my
13:42
three words every morning what scares me
13:44
and whatever was the very first thing
13:46
that popped into my head that was the
13:48
thing I did that day so I didn't do
13:51
anything crazy I didn't jump out of
13:53
planes I didn't do you know again like
13:56
yeah that's an idea of what some of
13:57
those fears might have been that you did
13:59
okay and and now some people might say
14:01
well that's ridiculous that's not scary
14:02
but to me they were so here's the thing
14:04
reality is that your fears are real for
14:07
you and so nobody can compare your fears
14:09
to them so I had fears so simple as just
14:13
like walking up to people and saying hi
14:15
I'm a very shy person you know even
14:18
though I do these videos and stuff it's
14:20
it's so different than actually walking
14:23
so I remember this one time in
14:26
particular this is a great one for me is
14:28
that I said this morning okay here what
14:30
I'm scared of is approaching a stranger
14:32
in a coffee shop so I'm gonna approach a
14:35
stranger today in Starbucks and I'm
14:37
gonna have a conversation with them so
14:39
that was my challenge to myself that day
14:41
so I went to the Starbucks and when I
14:44
walked in Everybody was paired up with
14:46
each other nobody was by themselves it
14:48
had to be a stranger by themselves so I
14:50
just waited and waited and then finally
14:52
a gentleman walked in he ordered his
14:54
coffee and he sat down and I was like oh
14:56
my god there he is that's the guy I got
14:58
a code talk dude I was so scared like I
15:02
was probably sweating I was probably
15:04
shaking and so I walked up to him and I
15:06
said excuse me sir I'm facing a fear
15:10
every day yours is taught to talk to a
15:13
stranger do you mind if I have a seat
15:14
for a moment and he was like sure you
15:17
know so I had a seat when we talked we
15:24
talked for like two or three minutes and
15:26
then I said thank you so much you helped
15:28
me through today's fear I really
15:29
appreciate it and I left
15:31
still scared but you did it and and you
15:34
know and just for the you know those of
15:37
you who are watching either on replay or
15:38
live this book is available and we're
15:40
gonna tell you how to get the book in
15:41
the meantime guys if you want to find
15:43
out a little bit more about Linda right
15:44
now if you put if you just put Linda's
15:46
name in the comments
15:48
boom robot is is live today and so boom
15:51
robot will show up and will send you a
15:53
message and give you some links as to
15:55
how to get to know Linda a little bit
15:57
better but in the meantime we're gonna
15:59
just keep on going so what is something
16:01
that people don't know about you well I
16:05
think a lot of people don't know that I
16:07
play bass guitar in a rock band that's
16:09
one of my favorite things I started
16:12
playing bass guitar about seven years
16:13
ago and so we talked about you're never
16:16
too old to start something new so at age
16:19
47 I picked up a bass guitar and I was
16:22
like I want to learn how to play it and
16:24
so you know my husband taught me how to
16:26
play and started playing in a rock band
16:28
that's my favorite what I don't know
16:31
about Linda if he okay well I also know
16:33
that you ran away when you were five so
16:35
I thought that was a brilliant that was
16:37
an interesting for all of us whoever ran
16:39
away from home you didn't just run away
16:41
from home you stayed away for a little
16:42
while didn't you I was gone for an
16:44
entire week and people asked me where
16:48
well I only I only went to the
16:50
neighbor's house okay I was gone an
16:53
entire week and here's the things I
16:54
would have stayed gone forever
16:56
had my mom not said okay it's time to
16:58
send Linda home because I grew up in a
17:01
very abusive alcoholic household and it
17:04
wasn't happy there you know I was happy
17:07
at my friend's house and so I went to
17:09
someplace where I was happy I went to my
17:11
happy place which was my neighbor's
17:12
house you know I was gone for an entire
17:14
week yeah and and we're glad you came
17:17
back because you would not be here to
17:19
tell us about this program that you now
17:21
have that you have launched and I'm
17:23
really excited about it that were one of
17:25
the first actually promote this out
17:27
there yeah I'll finish it fast and I'm
17:31
gonna put it up there and yes I know it
17:32
looks silly when I put it up this way
17:34
but let me just show you the program is
17:35
called finish it fast let's talk about
17:39
the program what is this program well
17:42
it's a program that I created you know
17:45
a necessity as the mother of invention
17:47
right now I used to be a tremendous
17:50
procrastinator and I discovered
17:53
throughout my journey this last four
17:55
years why I was procrastinating there
17:57
were many reasons some of it was due to
17:59
fear some of it was because I didn't
18:02
know how to do something some of it was
18:04
because you I judged myself some of it
18:07
was just I didn't want to do it I hated
18:09
it and so I had all these different
18:10
reasons I was procrastinating and I said
18:12
you know what I'm gonna create a program
18:15
or it's like a mastermind type of
18:16
program where we get together once a
18:18
week we meet for three hours and then
18:21
what we do is at the beginning we tell
18:23
what we're gonna get done and then we
18:25
stay with each other and we watch each
18:26
other work for three hours and so at the
18:29
end of three hours we check back in we
18:31
say did you get it done yes I did and
18:33
then we go on with our week the reason I
18:36
did that was because I had been involved
18:37
in so many mastermind programs where we
18:40
get on a call for one hour everybody
18:42
would talk about what they're gonna do
18:43
that week and then nobody would get it
18:45
done no accountability like yeah I was
18:48
not finishing my own stuff let alone
18:50
everybody else so I'm like I'm gonna
18:52
create my own program and I'm gonna make
18:53
it so we finish it fast and so the
18:56
finish it past program was born about
18:57
two and a half years ago and it's a
19:00
great program I finally launched it is a
19:02
paid program I just did it with me and
19:04
my friends I did it for myself it was a
19:06
hundred percent for myself that was why
19:08
I did it but the things I have
19:09
accomplished in the last two-and-a-half
19:11
years are due to that program so it's
19:14
it's been absolutely incredible and so
19:16
my clients also they've done amazing
19:18
stuff with that program so tell us some
19:21
of the things that are gonna happen in
19:22
this program I know it's a a three-month
19:25
it's it can be as longer than three
19:26
months but it's a three month program to
19:28
start out with what are some of the
19:29
things that they're going to get when
19:31
they decide to stop being a
19:34
procrastinator as you say and become an
19:36
action ater it's my own word I'm gonna
19:42
trademark that I think you know action
19:44
ater but what they're gonna get first of
19:46
all is they're gonna finish the stuff
19:47
they've been putting off you how many of
19:49
us have shelf development you know I've
19:50
got these shelves behind me that don't
19:52
have any shelf development on them but
19:53
how often have you attended a seminar a
19:55
webinar a workshop you know an emperor
19:58
and three-day event a five-day event or
20:00
one day whatever that you came home and
20:02
yet all this stuff and you had this
20:04
intention like oh I can't believe this
20:05
is exciting I'm gonna get in there and
20:07
I'm gonna do all this and then my whole
20:08
life is gonna change and then it comes
20:10
the second day and it goes on your
20:12
shopping yeah exactly yeah so that's the
20:15
one thing is this program I'm one of my
20:17
clients the first thing I'll give you
20:19
guys a tip this is a really great tip is
20:21
one of my clients had I told her I said
20:23
I want you to count how many programs
20:25
you actually have on the shelf and she
20:28
had 13 13 programs she paid for that she
20:32
wasn't doing 13 and how many do you have
20:35
I want you guys go check go check and
20:37
see how many you actually have that you
20:39
pay for that are sitting in your inbox
20:41
on your computer we're sitting on your
20:43
shelf at home count them up and they're
20:47
winning right I want you to write down
20:49
the list like actually write down a list
20:50
and then I want you to pour through that
20:53
list and say is this going to help me
20:55
better my business yes or no if the
20:58
answer is no I want you to just throw it
21:01
away don't worry that you spent $1,000
21:04
on it because if you're not using it
21:06
that thousand dollars is weighing you
21:10
and I love addenda sleep so I want you
21:12
just toss it or give it to somebody else
21:14
is gonna let it become shelf development
21:16
for them you know shelf development I
21:18
just love that you've got the coining
21:20
some great phrases here shelf
21:21
development that is that's that's
21:24
and I know that we have this program
21:26
available for our listeners and we have
21:28
a special Karen code that when they go
21:32
to boomer lifestyle the boomer lifestyle
21:34
which is the the store it's actually
21:36
sitting in the store right now guys and
21:38
we'll talk a little bit about that but
21:39
if you go there you're gonna click on
21:40
the finish it fast button and you're
21:42
gonna get 10% off just like that
21:44
you're gonna put more jargon just like
21:46
that put my name in there and Thank You
21:49
Linda for giving me that code because
21:50
the quarter even what you're doing and I
21:52
think that we have a lot of
21:54
procrastinators out there you know I on
21:57
occasion have been one but I am much
22:00
more an action ATAR at this point so I
22:01
want people to be like you and me and to
22:03
take action and actually do it so the
22:06
way to go do that is to go to the Boomer
22:10
right there the bloomer lifestyle calm
22:12
and you'll see very at the very top of
22:13
the page is gonna be Linda's picture you
22:15
can't miss her she's there and then
22:17
there's a little button finish it fast
22:19
you can also pick up her book in there
22:22
the your fears you can pick up the book
22:23
as well if you'd like to get in touch
22:26
with Linda I'm gonna put some of her
22:28
contact information right now you can go
22:30
check out her website at
22:33
www.lazyguycooking.com
22:44
and you just grew that page of over
22:47
14,000 friends and failures on that page
22:50
already check it out facebook.com
22:52
forward slash living live dot TV and
22:56
finally is that right no the Facebook
22:59
one is Facebook slash living live show
23:03
living live show I oh here we go
23:06
I that's the right one sorry that guy I
23:08
have both their doors put that one
23:10
that's the right one guys also an
23:12
Instagram you can check her out at
23:14
living live TV and on Twitter you can
23:18
check her out at Linda M West on Twitter
23:22
oh my gosh so much information so yes
23:27
let's do some last thoughts what do you
23:28
want to leave the audience with before
23:30
we say goodbye what can you tell them
23:32
right now that's going to just change
23:34
their life right now okay one thing is
23:38
they say that you're a reflection of the
23:39
five people you hang out with the most
23:41
so I want you to look at your your
23:42
people that you're hanging out with and
23:44
see do you like those people if you
23:45
really like those people keep hanging
23:47
out with them but you know what if you
23:48
don't you want to find a different
23:50
circle and that is actually what helped
23:52
me to grow me as personal as a personal
23:55
person as well as grow my business
23:56
because I started hanging out with the
23:58
people who were winners the people who
24:00
were taking action and realized that you
24:03
know I'm actually a reflection of them
24:05
because they're doing it and I'm doing
24:07
it too so just make sure you look at
24:10
your circle see who it is that you're
24:11
hanging out with it do you want to be
24:12
hanging out with those people and
24:14
they're over there you got to go over
24:15
there otherwise it's not going to happen
24:17
so Linda it begs the question I know
24:19
you're hanging out with some pretty
24:21
incredible people right now tell us
24:23
drop a little bit who are you hanging
24:24
out with these days thank you it's kind
24:27
of embarrassing like to name-drop you
24:28
know they worked hard at this name do I
24:33
have I have oh my gosh I had privilege
24:35
you know spending lunch with Jack
24:37
Canfield one day while I was at the
24:39
Academy Awards after-party I was one of
24:42
the correspondents on the floor
24:43
interviewing stars and you know this was
24:46
all because of the circle I hang out
24:48
with Les Brown you know Les Brown called
24:50
me up one day and he's like Linda you're
24:52
you're a great servant and I want to
24:54
give back to you make sure when I'm in
24:56
town that you meet up with me because
24:57
I'm going to help you learn how to
24:59
leverage me and I'm like you know what
25:01
an incredible incredible man right the
25:04
creator and the co-founder of the
25:06
make-a-wish Foundation Frank shank Woods
25:08
is a dear friend of mine and this is
25:10
because again because of the circle I'm
25:12
in the founder of UGG boots you know
25:14
Brian Smith you know he's a another
25:17
friend of mine he lives actually not far
25:18
from where I am right now and you know
25:21
these people have just all been part of
25:23
my circle I interviewed ex-president of
25:25
Mexico Vicente politiques ago my
25:30
goodness yeah well you know and I wanna
25:33
share what that really quick is because
25:34
you know why these things happened is
25:36
because I learned who Linda is and I
25:38
started living as Linda because prior to
25:40
that again you I was a people pleaser
25:43
and I was always trying to be what other
25:44
people what I thought other people
25:46
wanted me to be so I spent a lot of time
25:48
discovering who is Linda what are my
25:51
likes what are my dislikes and living my
25:53
life as that person the person I really
25:56
am and that's when all these doors
25:58
started opening when I started meeting
26:00
these people when I sat down with Jack
26:01
Kemp build the very first thing I said
26:03
to him was Jack I am NOT here to take
26:05
anything from you I'm here simply to
26:08
spend time with you and so we were at
26:10
lunch for two hours it was absolutely
26:12
I'll tell you this story really I don't
26:13
know as time we have left but just
26:14
really really uncle that story really
26:16
really quick so I'm at the Academy
26:18
Awards after-party and I walk in and
26:20
it's lunchtime everybody was at lunch
26:22
except for Jack and he was talking to a
26:24
couple people so I stood there like I'm
26:27
honking I'm gonna be a picture of it
26:28
Jack Canfield I was so excited you know
26:30
and I was just standing there patiently
26:31
and about three minutes went by when the
26:34
conversation started ending and the
26:36
the people he was talking to went that
26:38
way and Jack turned towards me and he
26:40
said I'm hungry I'm gonna get lunch he
26:44
was just talking to himself but now the
26:46
old the old Linda would have said ah
26:49
darn it I you know I can't get a picture
26:51
but the Newland I said I grabbed his arm
26:53
and I said I'm gonna take you to lunch
26:55
that's how I got again just like that
26:58
and he's like okay so he went to lunch
27:01
together you know it show the
27:04
opportunity so amazing yes there was
27:07
right there's opportunity there's
27:08
opportunity around us all the time and
27:11
so often we don't see that opportunity
27:14
because we have a closed mind and we're
27:15
not living you know authentically as
27:17
ourselves so my mind said what I really
27:19
want is I want to take him to lunch so I
27:22
took him to lunch here was the fun part
27:24
is I didn't know this because I showed
27:27
up at the event late he had spoken that
27:29
morning and when he spoke they actually
27:32
auctioned him off for $14,000 for lunch
27:36
with Jack Canfield oh my goodness my
27:39
lunch was thirty $38 high five
27:43
girlfriend that is awesome
27:44
that is awesome okay guys you heard it
27:48
here you heard it here first and that is
27:51
you got to face your fears you just have
27:53
to step into it and go check out the
27:55
finish at fast program you can find it
27:57
at the Boomer lifestyle calm Linda thank
28:00
you thank you thank you for being on the
28:01
show today I'm going to drop in here
28:02
ring room as I do some ending pieces of
28:06
the show and I'll talk to you afterwards
28:07
thank you so much hi everybody so now is
28:13
the time that we do the the super Boomer
28:15
moment I'm gonna bring that up I brought
28:17
the wrong card in oops you know this is
28:20
the time that we talk about something
28:21
that really struck me during the show
28:23
and I want to share it with you a
28:25
personal thing that I want to want to
28:27
share with all of you and that is you
28:29
have to stop telling yourself that you
28:31
can't and start telling yourself that
28:33
you can because when you do that when
28:37
you do that the opportunities arrive and
28:39
what a perfect story that Linda told us
28:42
at the end of how she just did it I mean
28:45
she could have turned around and walked
28:46
away but she didn't she faced her
28:48
she walked right into it and said I'm
28:50
taking you to lunch and amazing things
28:53
happen Wow thank you thank you thank you
28:56
you know I want to thank I want to thank
28:58
all of you who are watching today
28:59
whether you're here today live or
29:01
whether you're on replay we know that
29:02
you have a choice as to how to spend
29:04
your time and you chose to spend it with
29:06
me and Linda today we are eternally
29:09
grateful we want to thank you and we
29:10
want you to go out and tell a friend to
29:12
join you next week on the next episode
29:15
of the little white lie good bye
