Understanding Life As Energy with Dr. Heather Renee
Heather was the first to attend college in her family, and when she got there, she realized her dream was to teach at the University. After she obtained her PhD in Psychology from Brandeis University where she studied aging, she lived that dream for 20 years.
Her teaching roles lead to administrative ones and in what seemed like the blink of an eye, she was no longer in the classroom and was Vice President of Academic Affairs. In 2015, she realized that Higher Education was no longer fueling her core passion of teaching. She further realized her passion had changed from simply teaching others useful things to teaching others things that led to their personal transformation…So she left the university to start her own business.
While she is involved in a number of different endeavors, they all that have a common core: The understanding of life as Energy.
Her tagline is: Heal Yourself, Transform the World because she believes we are all in need of healing (be it physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual) and once we heal, we will be positioned to live out our life purpose. Finally, if we each live out our life purpose, collectively we can (and will) change the world.
Some of the topics we discuss:
Passion is an emotion. What does that mean?
Can people lose their passion?
What Heather loves about what she does.
Everything she does reduces inflammation. Explain
What is energy psychology?

hello everyone Karen glasser here and
0:03
welcome to this episode of The Passion
0:05
point this is the show where we follow
0:07
fashionistas from all around the world
0:09
who are following their passion making a
0:11
living doing what they love and today we
0:13
have a very special guest dr. heather
0:15
renee you know her tagline is heal
0:18
yourself transform the world because she
0:20
believes we are all in need of healing I
0:22
agree to be a physical mental emotional
0:24
or spiritual and once we heal we will be
0:28
positioned to live out our life purpose
0:31
and she's all about passion and which
0:33
this is the passing point though welcome
0:36
to the show how are you today oh thank
0:37
you so much can i'm so excited to be
0:40
here well i think i'm even more excited
0:42
than you are because you know we're both
0:45
of the passion business and it's always
0:47
fun to meet somebody that has that same
0:50
bend in what they're doing so I mean
0:52
we're just said is passion so let's
0:54
start with the definition of passion so
0:56
I'm going to start with webster's
0:58
dictionary of passion a dictionary
1:00
definition and Lester says passion is an
1:03
intense driving or overmastering feel or
1:06
conviction what do you think with
1:08
passion I like to keep it simple passion
1:12
is an emotion that you feel when you're
1:15
exploring your unique talents and gifts
1:18
so I like to say this is something
1:21
you'll experience when you are being
1:23
what you were meant to be oh I cool
1:29
that's night so for all of our listeners
1:31
I'm going to make sure it's put that set
1:33
right down that definition right in the
1:35
post so make sure you look down there
1:36
because that is beautiful i think that's
1:38
the most beautiful definition that i've
1:40
had a passion haha well let's talk about
1:43
you this is opens your story I don't
1:45
feel however far back you want to go
1:47
university or before that let's talk
1:49
about your journey how did you get to
1:51
where you are today and changing life
1:54
tell us your story sure why would say
1:57
really a pivotal point was about four
1:59
years ago and it was a Thursday evening
2:02
when I got a knock on the door and I
2:05
remember like it was yesterday for all
2:07
intents and purposes my life was going
2:09
pretty well I was living at my poor
2:11
passion of Education
2:12
I love learning new things I love
2:14
teaching people things I was vice
2:17
president of academic affairs at the
2:19
university driving my dream car
2:21
vacationing in Hawaii my kids were doing
2:23
well we were all healthy but here comes
2:25
with knock on the door and it's the
2:28
sheriff's asking me to step outside and
2:30
the news that she had for me was that
2:32
the father of my children had been
2:34
funded and no foul play no it was not a
2:39
suicide and we had just seen him days
2:42
before so for all intents and purposes
2:44
it looks like at 43 his body had just
2:47
stopped working and I'm sure there's
2:49
listeners out there that have had that
2:51
experience where your breath is just
2:52
taken away and time camps billing and
2:55
kinda go which has happened any Wow and
2:58
what is this all about in the question I
3:00
asked myself was because I was so much I
3:03
42 times if today was the last day that
3:07
I was here if this was the last day I
3:09
had to be in this physical body what id
3:11
okay with that do I feel like I've done
3:13
all I was put here to do and the answer
3:15
was no so at that point I made a
3:17
decision to leave Arizona which is where
3:19
we were living and those back home to
3:21
Southern California now it wasn't a
3:24
straight shot journey ok so I'll be
3:27
honest it was three years of kind of
3:29
feeling around in the dark I me I
3:31
understand that I am as you know I don't
3:34
think anything is a straight journey
3:35
yeah I hit left with him in New exactly
3:38
trial and error for lack of a better
3:40
phrase you know soul searching and
3:42
feeling of myself mm-hmm and then so I
3:45
give out for three years and then I kind
3:47
of had a sit-down a year ago with the
3:49
universe and I said all right listen up
3:53
I am done help us pounding down doors I
3:57
am done creating doors where they don't
3:59
even exist but here's what I'll say to
4:01
you universe if you present to me an
4:03
open-door I'm gonna walk through it I
4:05
will do whatever it is I'm here to do
4:08
and you can't make this stuff up Karen
4:12
that same day I was introduced to a
4:14
woman by the name of Robin Hoffman hat
4:15
who owns the business and the name of
4:18
her business is clarity which is what I
4:20
had been meditating on all day Wow
4:22
clarity I just need some clarity I
4:24
need some clarity so you know that
4:26
you're going to get fine when you're on
4:28
this clapping when you're open there's
4:30
no such thing as a coincidence I agree
4:32
leave this unfold I totally agree and
4:35
it's the mindset and if you start
4:36
thinking about it and putting it out
4:38
there and do the work it's going to show
4:40
up and looking for them this being awake
4:43
there's so many people walking around
4:45
like I was in kind of this cultural
4:48
hypnotic trance you know so much stress
4:50
and overwhelm wealth per company
4:52
produces products that are based on
4:55
health and wellness and they use things
4:59
like the science of epigenetics
5:01
nutrigenomics and quantum signature and
5:04
hammock technology which are a lot of
5:06
big words that there's one simple
5:07
foundation here and the foundation is
5:10
that we actually have a tremendous
5:13
ability to control our own health and
5:16
well-being yes and it was three diet
5:18
company I met a man by the name of Gary
5:20
Sinclair who I was a client of his he
5:24
taught me some hands-on healing
5:25
modalities that you do on yourself i
5:27
participated in his two-day restoration
5:31
course and my life was so changed by my
5:33
work with him my personal healing that I
5:36
want went on to become certified in that
5:38
so to sum it up I help people understand
5:43
their life is energy and really take
5:47
conscious responsibility for how we can
5:51
heal ourselves and transform ourselves
5:53
and I do that with the clarity business
5:55
and with the work that I was certified
5:57
in the theory so what do you like most
6:00
about what you do making a difference in
6:04
other people's lives and helping them
6:05
wake up I believe our heaven if your
6:09
honor and it pains me to see people like
6:14
I was just not that long ago just
6:15
putting one foot in front of the other
6:18
sleepwalking not living and I just want
6:21
to say come on guys were here to have
6:23
fun and get sand between our toes and
6:25
eat ice cream and love you know it's fun
6:29
i'm watching you talk and it's very
6:31
clear that you don't you're not just
6:33
talking you're actually experiencing the
6:35
words that are coming out your you're
6:37
literally glowing
6:38
and obviously it ties back to the whole
6:41
passion thing and you talk about passion
6:43
being an emotion yeah what does that
6:45
mean exactly so an emotion is a feeling
6:50
that actually causes us to vibrate okay
6:53
so I'm going to get a little bit into
6:54
energy here and for people who are
6:56
interested if if what I'm saying is
6:58
interesting to you should check out work
7:01
by dr. David Hawkins and he has a map of
7:05
consciousness that rank orders different
7:07
ways of being and so your body is
7:10
literally vibrating at a different
7:13
frequency when you're being or in
7:15
experiencing a certain emotion so love
7:17
is pretty high up there okay but here's
7:20
an example anger is actually higher than
7:23
guilt so for example if you wake up one
7:27
day and you're someone guilty about a
7:29
situation that the next day you're angry
7:31
you're actually transforming in a
7:33
positive way Wow housing is that yeah
7:37
it's really cool stuff David Hawkins a
7:40
map of consciousness I i would suggest
7:42
people check that out because it helps
7:44
you understand your energy field it's
7:46
actually within your body and it sends a
7:48
couple feet out from you which is why
7:50
you can feel someone else's energy when
7:52
you need us and then in perhaps they're
7:54
doing some of mine yeah I will cut
7:56
across time and space it's something
7:59
that you you will feel but again having
8:03
that conscious awareness of where you
8:06
are and how you could potentially
8:08
progress towards love which is where I
8:11
like to try to bring people because I
8:13
believe if everyone really understood
8:16
that they were loved loved and loving
8:20
they would not only feel great which is
8:22
a great benefit but they would make
8:24
choices based on love and that would
8:26
transform the world as we know it I mean
8:29
how does that tie into the whole
8:30
scarcity versus abundance thing you know
8:32
when when if you're tied into love you
8:36
are experiencing abundance either drunk
8:38
yeah they're not tied into love you
8:42
might be having that scarcity finger huh
8:44
and I mostly do you talk yeah so it's
8:47
like those bros colored glasses maybe
8:50
filter from which you perceive the world
8:53
and so things like scarcity or abundance
8:56
are simply mindset but then we start
8:59
getting into beliefs that are largely
9:01
programming and often operating an
9:04
unconscious level but absolutely the
9:08
transformation that I like to be
9:11
involved in with people it does take
9:13
some effort so consciously being aware
9:16
of where you're spending your time in
9:17
your head and um but it's not a struggle
9:20
Karen it's not a struggle just a little
9:23
effort and I'm sure as our viewers are a
9:26
listening to this and watching this and
9:27
they're going oh yeah right you know if
9:29
anyone can do this so can you would you
9:32
be willing to let our viewers maybe just
9:35
one thing that they might be able to do
9:37
today can maybe just switch it and go
9:41
into the feeling of love I mean is there
9:43
something that they could do right now
9:44
huh yeah there's a lot of quick ones so
9:46
what I'll dress into if you insert my
9:48
website but it's download it's a game
9:50
that I created but this is so simple
9:53
stay out loud as many things as you can
9:57
think of that you're grateful for okay
9:59
and really challenge yourself so the
10:03
longer you can do it the better but you
10:06
know when I use this one I use with
10:07
someone i'm driving in traffic okay so i
10:11
will get stressed in traffic so say i am
10:13
grateful i live with our paved roads I'm
10:16
grateful for the car next to me that
10:18
it's staying in their Lane I'm grateful
10:19
that I have a radio with really cool
10:20
music on it oh I'm grateful to my kids
10:22
are in the backseat smiling I'm grateful
10:24
and you just do it until you can't do it
10:26
anymore don't just stop at one two or
10:28
three things i'm grateful that as i was
10:30
down there fan on the floor mat of my
10:33
car how cool is that well you know I
10:37
kind of like want to have what you're
10:39
having right now because you are really
10:41
radiating the love that you talk about
10:43
can people lose their passion I don't
10:46
believe so I do believe that it can be
10:50
buried under daily hassles or my
10:53
stresses I do believe sometimes and it
10:56
is in a state of transformation okay so
10:59
it's a little nebulous but it's there
11:02
for
11:03
the finding if you think you've lost it
11:07
okay I get that I get that so I'm going
11:12
to jump into something else you talk
11:13
about inflammation yeah you do we all
11:18
have inflammation is that is that a
11:20
physical thing is that an emotional
11:21
thing yeah what are you talking about
11:23
when you talk about informant ok so my
11:26
degree is in developmental psychology
11:29
where I studied aging and so when I went
11:32
to school my original goal was to help
11:34
people understand how to age
11:35
successfully and all this actually does
11:37
tie in right so when you look back as
11:39
you're following internal you go yeah
11:40
okay so inflammation we notice
11:43
physically is essentially the root cause
11:46
of all ailments or degenerative diseases
11:48
as we know it there's a lot of research
11:51
on that and now for me I like to explain
11:54
it to people i play look lots of things
11:56
complain you your thoughts um what
12:00
you're eating and then the air to your
12:02
breathing the water you're drinking and
12:04
the way you're sleeping there's a lot of
12:07
different ways to become inflamed but
12:10
the great news is you have the power to
12:13
change that and again it's not it's not
12:17
tough it's not a struggle but it does
12:20
take some effort and the the willingness
12:23
to be consciously responsible yeah now
12:29
that that makes total sense to lessons
12:31
and I know that we're going to send
12:32
people over to your website and will
12:34
will direct to them to do that in just a
12:36
little bit okay and also they're going
12:38
to be able to look it down in the post
12:39
all the links are going to be there
12:40
because I know they're going to want to
12:41
touch base with you and connect with you
12:43
you know I'm a big quote girl yeah so I
12:47
have a quote that I want to share with
12:48
you today ok this is anonymous no I
12:52
cannot find an offer for it but if you
12:53
catch yourself working hard and loving
12:56
every minute of it don't stop you're on
12:58
to something big because hard work isn't
13:01
hard when you concentrate on your
13:03
passion perfect for you right oh I love
13:06
it I wish I know who wrote it because i
13:08
didn't get credits but perfect quote is
13:11
because it talks about passions and it
13:12
talks about working hard but but it
13:14
doesn't have to be hard work that can be
13:16
enjoyable what's a quote that you lie
13:18
what is something that you'd like to
13:19
share I'm a big quote and saying person
13:22
to when I just found this week that has
13:24
been kind of underlying a lot of the
13:26
writing that i'm doing is an old one
13:29
from called young and he said until your
13:33
unconscious becomes conscious it will
13:37
direct your life and you will call it
13:39
fate so until the unconscious becomes
13:43
conscious it will direct your life and
13:46
you don't call it fate love it love it
13:49
love it love it okay so if you could
13:52
spread passion dust on anyone in the
13:54
world anyone and you could accomplish
13:57
anything by spreading that passion dust
13:59
you spread it on and what do you want to
14:02
accomplish okay so I knew you were going
14:04
to ask this question I've been thinking
14:05
about I thought you know what Karen D
14:08
didn't give me any parameters well I am
14:10
spreading that magic gush all over the
14:12
world good okay and not with the idea
14:14
that people are going to wake up
14:15
tomorrow and quit their day job and do
14:17
something extreme but with the idea that
14:20
if everyone woke up tomorrow and it's in
14:24
a couple of minutes doing that thing
14:26
that puts a twinkle in their eye or
14:29
spring in their step and it may be
14:31
something like working in the garden or
14:33
telling a story right or playing your
14:36
musical instrument if people just did
14:38
that a few minutes a day over time to do
14:41
imagine how different this world would
14:44
be oh absolutely i mean i have a lot of
14:46
people because i'm in the passion
14:48
business that was saving me i kind of i
14:51
know that i had passions before i've
14:54
been working for years and years I
14:56
couldn't have forgotten what I'm
14:57
passionate about how does somebody find
15:00
that passion again how do they figure
15:02
out what they like that they're actually
15:04
passionate about what advice would you
15:06
give something so there's always that
15:07
standard question if you were to wake up
15:09
tomorrow and never had to worry about
15:12
money again what would you do with your
15:13
days but I like to ask people hey so
15:17
tell me what do you do for fun and you
15:19
know what is crazy about that question I
15:21
can't tell you how many people are
15:23
stopped in their tracks what they really
15:24
have to think about it and that is just
15:26
simple that is this evidence of how this
15:29
connected we've become from our hearts
15:32
right but to say what what do you do for
15:34
fun worst case scenario you still can't
15:37
answer those questions I face sit down
15:39
with someone who knows you and let them
15:42
tell you or at least give you some hints
15:45
on the trail you know what I'm totally
15:47
relating to what you're saying because I
15:49
actually was that person several years
15:52
ago I you know I worked with a
15:53
workaholic I probably one might say I'm
15:56
still a workaholic you know I know it's
15:58
a negative word I work a lot but I was
16:01
asked that same question you know what
16:03
do you what are you passionate about in
16:05
or what do you like to do for fun and it
16:06
was like fun when I exactly who
16:09
has time for fun and here is I'm a woman
16:12
who I'm going to accomplish piano player
16:14
right i sing i read i get all this stuff
16:17
and yet I couldn't answer that question
16:20
so I'm not surprised to hear that many
16:23
people just kind of in their tracks and
16:25
say no no I don't know and how sad is
16:28
that I think that actually I thought it
16:30
was that and I'm i have worked hard to
16:33
and i don't like the word balance i
16:35
don't actually use the word balance but
16:36
I've worked hard to put some fun back
16:38
into my life yeah and it's
16:40
transformative it totally is I smile
16:43
more and people actually say to me you
16:45
look so happy yeah realize that I didn't
16:48
look happy before but I guess I look
16:51
different in we've been telling people
16:53
that were going to send them to your
16:54
site to let us know them right now where
16:56
are they going to go dr. heather renee
16:59
calm and when you get there you'll see a
17:02
place where you can enter your name and
17:03
email and it will give you immediate
17:05
access to a game I created calm what I
17:08
like about you and it will raise your
17:09
vibration like we were talking earlier
17:10
wonderful if something is consider
17:12
yourself you can play with your family
17:14
