0:05
process of aging and today is no exception our guest is international coach and author Rene Kempster and
0:11
friend we are talking about communicating in today's world if you are here live terrific if your heroine
0:18
replay just as terrific make a comment let us know how you got here and share
0:24

0:43

0:49

0:55
shark tape that's very cool Rene Rene is one of the top closers and sales trainers in the industry personally
1:02
closing over 415 million dollars in sales she works with people at home as
1:08
well that help them communicate without fear and so without further ado I
1:14
welcome Rene to the show how you doing today Aimee Karen I'm so happy to be here
1:19
thank you for inviting me I am excited you've been traveling the world and I know that you just recently
1:25
got home and are staying home so I'm
1:31
really really happy that you made the time to come and join us on this show because you have so much to share I have
1:37
such a great amount of respect for you and I like to start my show by asking
1:44
the question how do you describe a super boomer now I describe super boomers as
1:49
not being defined by their age they are defined by how they show up in life
1:55
fearless with a just watch me attitude fearless now I want you to remember that
2:00
word because we're going to be talking about that so Renee chemstro how do you describe a super boomer to me a super
2:07
boomer is somebody who really creates exactly the life that they want
2:13
and then they go out and make a difference in the world at the same time because to me it's all about people and
2:20
if we can make a difference we've won everything great great
2:25
definition you know I already kind of gave some clues when I was introducing
2:30
you about the topic you know the topic is about communicating in today's world however the world today is a lot
2:38
different than it was a month ago two months ago six months ago and when we first chatted we had a whole nother you
2:45
know direction as to where we are going and so today we're talking about communication and if you're just tuning
2:51
in we've got reneik hamster on and we're talking about how communicating in today's world has changed so how has it
2:58
changed how has communication changed it's really interesting Karen because we have two groups when we look at
3:05
communication today you have the group of entrepreneurs that really do not
3:10
think about fear right now and all they think about is you know what this is a
3:15
time where things can really boom if they look back at recessions from years
3:21
ago they know how to make it work and like yourself who's doing a show like
3:26
this today that is what a lot of super boomers or people do right now which is taking them
3:34
on a different path right they are looking and talking to people who are pretty positive yeah I call in you have
3:40
you're pivoting right and that is extremely important but now you have the
3:46
other group of people that all they can think about is the fear of what is going
3:53
on they are watching news 24/7 you know they might have been maybe fired from
4:01
their work or whatever and so they are sitting and they are not doing anything
4:06
because they are totally stuck where they are and all they can talk about is
4:12
about everything that is wrong where you know when I'm talking about my super
4:19
boomer or what I believe a super boomer is it is somebody who create exactly
4:25
what they want and so yep most people are sitting at
4:30
home I'm going to tell you something that you wouldn't have expected I feel
4:35
extremely healthy and I also feel it's really important for me to do a
4:41
difference and to make a difference and so what did I do I signed up for a company named chip and
4:48
with shift you go and you get groceries for people who are scared to come out of
4:54
the house and I'll delivering groceries well cause that way I'm making a
5:01
difference and instead of saying well you know what in this time which is the
5:07
truth ninety percent of my clients put me on a hold period for right now right I just
5:15
made I made the decision well then income has to come a different way right
5:20
right in hand oh I'm doing doesn't mean that I don't have money it means I
5:27
do whatever it takes and always making a difference so so how do you tell how do
5:34
you help people that way I mean we can tell them that is there a step something
5:39
that they can just take a first step to get out of their own way you know
5:44
absolutely but when you tell people do not listen to news 24/7 it is something
5:52
that they don't always want to accept right and honestly that is the step
5:57
number one yeah it's not to listen to news 24/7 and so I actually have a very
6:04
big rule I take my telephone twice a day for five minutes and that's the only
6:12
time that I actually put it on so I can see what is really happening you know
6:17
for a very long time I just decided I'm not going to watch news I will always
6:22
hear it but because communication has changed
6:28
people are actually not communicating and are becoming extremely lonely in
6:34
these days and and what I have found is if I do that
6:40
two times a day look at what happens I can reach out to others and make a
6:46
difference by giving them just a synopsis but then going over to little
6:53
things they can do so why do I do when I listen to these five minute clips what I
7:00
will do right after is I will immediately switch over not just to look
7:06
or listen to something beautiful or positive I actually go to music and the
7:13
reason for that is very clear when I listen to a good speaker like yourself
7:20
or some of your shows it doesn't mean that my mind will actually go there and
7:25
listen when I listen to music and I
7:30
start singing with it whether I have a good voice or I am off tune it doesn't
7:35
matter I can think about anything else I
7:40
love that you know I listen to classical music because when music that has words
7:46
it actually gets in my way I listen to classical music so I can just deep dive
7:51
right into it and it just it's very soothing I listen to it at night I listen to it in the morning and whenever
7:57
I need something to I listen to classical and you have a beautiful voice
8:02
by the way Rene thank you so do you so we always said we wanted to sing
8:08
together what I come from time right we will so let's let's really do a deep
8:14
dive on fear you know I my introduction about super boomers that were fearless
8:20
and I'm fearless and I have a t-shirt that says I'm fearless I do believe I'm fearless but I don't think that I live
8:26
without fear I think what happens is it's how we approach fear I lean into it
8:31
and if if I'm feeling and I know that you you probably have your your this a similar opinion but much much better
8:39
communication about it because that's your thing but I lean into the fear because that's telling me I need to go
8:45
do it let's talk about fear so fear is always an emotion right fear is
8:52
something that is based on maybe I think that happens in the past and now it kind of is brought back into our
8:58
minds so I am going to actually give you a story that happened to me in Thailand
9:05
that didn't have to do with fear but it's a similar emotion and so I I just
9:11
want people to understand so I was on a nine month actually it was an eleven month we'll
9:17
world tour and a month for I woke up one morning in Thailand and as I woke up
9:24
what was happening was I was so homesick I felt incredibly lonely I felt alone
9:32
and in my mind I was like you know it
9:38
alright just fine and I'm going back home but I know that that's I always
9:47
tell people you never do you don't run emotion so remember what I said fear is
9:54
the emotion so what I did instead is I gave myself some 15 minutes to sulk
10:02
so I literally set my alarm and I said okay for that 15 minutes I can cry I can
10:08
scream I can do what I want but when I'm done I'm going to go to my favorite
10:14
restaurant so that's exactly what I did it so once the alarm went I'm not
10:20
kidding you I mean that snot was dripping I'm sorry for the description
10:25
but it's the truth it was dripping my eyes was crying it was standing wide I put my clothes on
10:32
and I started walking to the restaurant and when I came there it was full of lady boys right they didn't know how to
10:40
handle me right because you can imagine they are so kind and so I sat outside
10:48
and I ordered an omelet now long story short as I was sitting there still
10:55
crying like crazy and just wanting to go home a butterfly came and that butterfly
11:02
landed on the plant right next to me I took a photo of that
11:07
then when my honest came that butterflies flew into my plate and it
11:13
faced out took a photo of that it turned around I took a photo of that and then
11:20
before it gave me notice it went in the middle of my omelet and it spread its
11:26
wings and I have a photo of that so I'm happy to send you these photos if you want to show you okay love it and we'll
11:33
put it in the blog when when the blog comes out please do and so what happened
11:38
in that moment is I look at this butterfly my first thought was am I still eating this omelette right and
11:45
then I'm like yeah it's just little legs but what was fascinating was that it
11:50
looked like that omelette was being absorbed by this well butterfly it
11:58
looked like it was honey to them or a nectar right right but we all know they
12:03
don't eat salty things right and so but what I did is it took me out of my whole
12:11
emotion Annie brought me to the present because all I could see was this
12:17
butterfly right I mean what happened is I was thinking what is the message that
12:24
this butterfly is bringing me and in that moment I actually posted a Facebook
12:30
post and I believe within about 30 minutes I had a hundred and 69 comments
12:36
from all over the world with people telling me what they believed the
12:41
message was for me well now I know in that moment that message to me that was
12:48
what I felt was you are never alone okay so I want to bring the same message to
12:55
our audience in fear you are never alone
13:01
you just have to choose which side of the fear you want to be on I agree I and
13:10
if you decide that look it is a fearful situation without trying to make less of
13:16
it wait however it's not changing anything if we are playing into the emotion of
13:23
fear so we might just as well choose to play the other side yeah and do whatever
13:31
it takes not to stay in that emotion because frankly if you communicate from
13:38
a place of fear you communicate from a place where you do not hear anything I I
13:45
actually I actually experienced that earlier this morning and so I and I'm
13:53
actually feeling it as you're talking but because it is an emotion but it's
13:58
how you decide to respond to it and going to either one side or the other
14:03
this is such an important conversation I'm sure as you're listening out there and and you're looking at that how do
14:09
you feel your fear when you're watching this whether live or on replay go ahead and make a comment down there how do you
14:15
feel your fear how do you respond to fear what Rene just said is that is that
14:20
resonating with you tell us what you think about fear we want to hear from you we want to hear from you so how is
14:28
that so we're talking about fear and communication so obviously from your
14:33
perspective and I can understand why communication is is so important when
14:38
you're feeling that fear right so
14:44
everybody wants to be heard mm-hmm but it always takes a listener in order to
14:51
be heard but if people are fearful they close themselves off to the listening
14:57
part and they all want to give their opinion but we need to remember it's
15:03
always an opinion it's nothing more than that yes yes right when your friend all
15:09
these things then is out there about right now we are in the middle of a virus right we are sitting at home and
15:16
we you and I spoke about that but the point of the matter is they have never
15:22
experienced something like this before and so everything that is coming out is
15:27
a matter of opinion and opinion changes day by day which we're seeing
15:33
and we're seeing every day something else this is unchartered territory even
15:38
talking to my parents about this because they were born just at the time of the
15:43
depression just at the time so they're don't remember it because they were they were babies right so even they didn't
15:50
experience so not even in their lifetime have they experienced this none of us
15:55
would we ever have woken up one morning and said oh I think we're going to experience something a pandemic or
16:02
something that affects the entire world it almost doesn't even make sense right but I love that what you were saying
16:09
it's uncharted territory so you know it's the same term when it comes to
16:16
communication anything that you communicate unless it's something that
16:21
you have said over and over because you don't listen will always be uncharted
16:28
territory because like you and I are communicating right now if I'm not present I cannot answer what you have to
16:36
say or what you ask and you couldn't talk with me right and so if we can see
16:43
communication as uncharted territory we really want to listen and we want to
16:49
hear deeper what somebody else say you know what will happen hey you're going
16:55
to have better relationships B you're going to have way better sales because
17:01
you will understand what somebody wants and need right C you will really have a
17:08
bigger family dynamic right cause people will feel important right right whereas
17:16
if you always have the world or the world so to speak you make everybody
17:22
else less important than your thought thought process yeah you know you use a
17:28
saying be the eye of the storm what does that mean well think about it if you
17:35
have a tornado going right you have all this stuff flying around but the eye of
17:41
the storm is that one space that is so calm yeah it's calm
17:47
right and so when you actually produce this show right everybody around you
17:54
might be like oh I don't know if I can do this what can I say how can I do this and if you are not the eye of the storm
18:01
in less interviews right there's just no way this this could go well so you are a
18:07
perfect example and in the eye of the storm and it's interesting because I bring my guests on a half-an-hour before
18:14
for that very reason to make sure that the guest you know not not every you've
18:20
been in front of lots of cameras not but you even had you come on a half an hour before we could talk so we could
18:27
communicate so by the time the show went live we're just continuing the conversation right and so very true and
18:34
that's I'm so that's interesting use me as an example because I guess I am the eye of the storm I their honor so why do
18:42
you do what you do I love people these a
18:48
few things I love people I love traveling and to me my whole purpose on
18:56
this endoscope is to make a difference to create a shift and unless I create a
19:03
shift even if it's 1% it is just no way
19:08
that I could live my purpose so that's exactly what I do what I do I love that
19:13
so Karen cup who's on live with us right now when we I asked the question about Farrah she said I stop and tell myself
19:19
that my purpose is bigger than my fear Karen thank you so much for participating in being here live your
19:27
thoughts and apparent opinions are very very important to us so I want to thank you for that so do you have a tip you
19:33
want to share now let me preface this so when I originally sent you some thoughts about this you responded with with this
19:43
I'm actually going to say what your tip was and I don't mean about this before the show I find it ironic because here
19:49
we are months later because this is we booked this months ago you said when times become tough I say to myself
19:55
things always work out better than expected you had no idea when you were
20:01
this that when times get we are in tough times right here we are in tough times
20:07
and you still believe that things work out better than expected
20:12
you know it's saying that I have started probably ten years ago so it's a quote
20:19
that I have everywhere and I absolutely believe it but I also believe if I keep
20:25
on telling myself while I'm in fear that things always work out better than expected then that's exactly what's
20:33
going to happen because whatever we focus on will expand and when I'm in
20:38
fear I cannot take myself from this side of the spectrum to this side of the
20:44
spectrum in one minute so those people that tell me to become positive you know it's just not happening right fighting
20:52
fire right so but in that moment if I say things who work out better than
20:58
expected it is something that I can live with and as I progress it becomes even
21:06
better than that so I can give you another example right before this or
21:11
illness pandemic I was all over the world right and the date that I decided
21:17
to come back I was in Australia we were going to have seven events they were all canceled and instead they had one
21:24
luncheon that I had a very big presentation and I in that moment decided I'm just going to stay in
21:31
Australia I mean beautiful Gold Coast I'm about one mile away from Tom Hanks
21:38
and his wife that's why I was in there just location right and I think I'm just
21:45
going to stay here and then one of my beeps literally said to me Renee but
21:51
what if you get it and they have to choose between you and an Australian and
21:57
that's what made me come home so why am i bringing that up is in that moment I
22:05
booked a plane ticket I got to the airport I was going to fly to New
22:11
Zealand and then from there get on in Airlines to come back home when I
22:17
checked in New Zealand in that moment decided they closed the airport for
22:23
transit people oh right I am two hours away from flying sorry they won't take
22:30
me on a plane so here I am and yes I had
22:36
fear because now I'm sitting I can't even go back to Queensland because Queensland closed its border with Sydney
22:44
so what did you do so I started saying you know everything always works out
22:51
better than expected but I didn't just sit there and say this I obviously win and stand in line so
22:58
that I could buy another ticket because there were two more Qantas flights that would come back to America oh there he
23:06
and so I stood in line and the lady before me had the option to buy the last
23:12
ticket so I said these words to myself almost loud and she couldn't make the decision
23:19
and so she phoned her husband and her husband was going back and forth so I said if you don't take it I will take it
23:26
and the lady in front of the tool and she said I cannot wait anymore I've been
23:32
waiting five minutes on you she sold me the last speaker well that last ticket
23:38
so I came home so you know I had now the choice am I going to feel bad because I
23:45
stole somebody's ticket or am I feeling happy because it was my it was just for
23:52
me right you know and you said sitting in the airport you used you recited the
23:58
phrase but you didn't just sit there you went and took action that's like I'm sure you've heard people say when
24:04
Napoleon Hill wrote Think and Grow Rich really we're supposed to think it and we're just going to be rich no of not
24:10
it's the same kind of thing it's what you put inside what you believe in and
24:15
then the actions that hey great to manifest that slowly yeah
24:22
so good so I want to just say you safely actions when that that gut feeling is
24:30
talking to you to me it's not the actions that your brain tells you
24:36
because in communication I just want to bring this point out the brain is a very small part of your body everything that
24:44
takes action is actually your arms your legs your heart your throat it's part of
24:51
the action right and so I just want to make sure that we preface this because
24:57
people think they're going to make it happen and many times that's when you
25:03
bump your head a thousand times right however what you can't see or
25:09
perceive you can conceive oh what is the same maybe you know whatever you can
25:14
think about it anyway you can make happen and so when that feeling comes up
25:20
that is when you move forward and that's what happens and well and I for one I'm
25:28
happy that it happens that you were able to come back so that we would have a you know the ability to do the show with
25:33
with decent internet connection Paulo from Brazil he just made a comment I put
25:38
it up on the screen so along those lines of intuition um you knew that I was gonna ask you
25:45
this question what is your superpower and young you asked me you said well what do you think your superpower your
25:51
superpower is and I said I said to you that I thought your superpower was listening correct and hearing the words
25:59
not just not just you know the words coming at you but actually hearing and internalizing them and you said your
26:07
superpower I said my superpower is listening but combine that with you know
26:14
whatever is coming through me into it oh my intuition my gut feeling because
26:20
frankly that is what made my clients millions and millions of dollars because
26:27
many times will I coach I don't even what's coming out of my mouth but I
26:32
trust it I love that and I'm sure that many times when you coach you may not even be an expert in that particular
26:40
field but you're able to look at the much bigger picture and be able to just let it come out so I that's one of the
26:46
things that you are so so so so good at I you know you've spoken on my stage before you have you have been on other
26:55
shows that I think business bantam you've been on on different things you don't say no to anything you you just
27:02
put yourself out there and I'm grateful for that because you said yes to us I am sure that our viewers are saying huh I
27:09
need to get me some Renee chemstro and so we're going to tell them how they can find you they can first find you on your
27:15
website which is www.hyken.com
27:34
it is at Renee chemstro and on LinkedIn guess again it is at Renee cancer so you
27:41
want to make sure that I know you I know you want to I mean because what is what Renee is done for so many people not
27:50
just these big corporations or the ones that are making millions and millions of dollars she does it for people like me
27:56
and people like others who who need her intuition need her listening need her
28:02
gut to tell you and to help you take that next vote net next step forward
28:08
Renee I want to thank you the time yeah I didn't believe how fast this went I want to thank you for coming in to the
28:14
show today I'm gonna drop you into the green room I have my super boomer moment I actually was writing it down as you
28:20
were talking because I liked it I liked
28:25
what you said you combine something that I said with with something that you said so it's kind of a joint thing so I'm
28:31
going to drop you under the show and don't go away I will be back there in a second
28:39
all right whoops not in green you back in again hold it sorry about that sorry about that all right so my super
28:49
boomer moment of the week and I do this every week I listen I listen to our
28:54
conversations I internalize it and then I try to bring something together and
29:00
you said communication is unchartered territory I love that expression I think
29:06
it should be a quote I think that we should tweet that out because it is it
29:11
is definitely uncharted territory because it changes every single day it changes every single day so Rene thank
29:17
you for that that is a learning piece for me today and I also want to bring up something else so and it's all on line
29:24
mate with with fear and I I can only imagine that there are a lot of us that
29:30
are sitting in our homes that that are worried that have a great amount of anxiety they're lonely they're it maybe
29:36
they're all by themselves because they don't have anybody that they were living with and now they are literally all by
29:42
themselves and they're suffering from anxiety there's meditation all sorts of things this book in particular is the
29:48
book that I've read the worry here seven steps to stop worry from stopping you we
29:54
have that book in the super boomer lifestyle store so go and check it out
30:00
it's a great book it gives you actual steps on how to stop worry from stopping
30:06
you so do check it out all right finally I want to thank you
30:13
you have you you have made a difference in my life
30:19
Rene and all of you have made a difference in my life as well you made a
30:26
decision today to tune in to this show and for that I am eternally grateful and I want to make sure that you join us
30:33
next week for the next episode of the super boomer lifestyle show have a great
30:38
day everyone bye bye
